Thursday, January 07, 2010 BACK SURGERY SCHEDULED FOR SLAYER'S TOM ARAYA, BAND'S TOUR PLANS CANCELLED THROUGH APRIL "Tom gave various medical treatments more than a fair shot," saidSlayer's manager Rick Sales, "but they just haven't handled theproblem, so he's biting the bullet and is scheduled for back surgery atthe end of this month." This difficult decision made by the band's bassist/vocalist Tom Arayameans the cancellation of Slayer's immediate tour plans that includethe American and Canadian Carnage Tour dates that were set to kick offon January 18, as well as the band's UK/European headline tourscheduled for March and April. Booking agents for both Slayer andMegadeth are already hard at work rescheduling the tour dates; ticketsalready purchased for these shows will be honored at the rescheduleddates. The headbanging Araya, known for aggressively swinging his long mane ofhair while performing, began experiencing back problems while on theband's Australian/New Zealand/Japanese tour last October. In spite ofhis rapidly increasing pain and discomfort, he carried on with thetour, but immediately upon returning home saw an orthopedic specialistwho diagnosed a Cervical Radiculopathy. The rocker initially did notwant to take the major surgery route, so the specialist recommended aseries of minimally-invasive procedures. While those procedures haveresulted in some improvement, Araya continues to deal with intermittentbouts of severe pain, numbness and muscle spasms. The surgicalprocedure that Araya will undergo, called an Anterior CervicalDiscectomy with Fusion, is a relatively routine practice and therecovery rate is excellent. Sales added, "As unfortunate as this is for so many people - theMegadeth and Testament camps, the concerts' promoters, and, of course,the fans - Tom's health is the number one priority, and this has tohappen." Ako je april otkazan, trebaće mu vremena da se oporavi bar mesec dana, taman pred Sony festival. Sve se pomera. Ma samo nek' se on oporavi! Pa sam malopre citao na netu sta kazu fanovi, kako je to neki marketingski potez Slayer-a i da ce uskoro da izdaju i izdanje sa tom pesmom kao bonus, da bi mlatili pare. Ali jbg, moze im se. Eto bas sam danas kupio poslednji album i lepo je odradjen booklet i to, ali naravno mora neko sranje da se desi. Okrnjena mi je malo ona plasticna crvena kutija pri vrhu i izlizan (izgreban) deo kod onog Parental Advisory u cosku. A to ne da me nervira!!! -.- Kako nisam video to konj. Ali dobro sta sada. Odgledao sam onaj Playing With Dolls filmcic, pa me je zacudilo otkud ta nova pesma u njemu, a nema je na albumu.
