In the city of Sankt Goarshausen at the Freilichtbühne Loreley, 56346 Sankt Goarshausen, Germany. Please follow the signs. For detailed directions please visit the Directions page or visit the website of the location: http://www.loreley-open-air.de/ Does Sankt Goarshausen have a train station and if so, which one do I have to use to get to the MAGIC CIRCLE FESTIVAL? Yes, Sankt Goarshausen has a train station, which is named St. Goarshausen Bahnhof. You can take a bus from the station “Goh KD Anleger” which is situated right near the Bahnhof (Main Train Station) to the Festival Grounds during the day. There is no bus that will take you back to St. Goarshausen after the Festival. If you book a Hotel/Pension in St. Goarshausen you will have to take a taxi (there are only a few available!) or walk down into town. It is a 30 minute walk – downhill. The path has no lights so you will need a flashlight or a headlamp. For more information visit Bahn's website: German or English. How can I get to the festival ground from the train station in Sankt Goarshausen? You can go by foot. Just follow the signs directing you to the foot path to the Loreley. It is not recommended to walk along the road because there is no side walk. Or you can take the bus (see above). Ferry information. Visitors who have booked a hotel or pension on the opposite side of the Rhine have to be sure to make their return on time. Check here: http://www.loreley-touristik.de/ There are many hotels and pensions available. They are not cheap. Be sure to book a hotel or pension in ST. GOARSHAUSEN and not in ST. GOAR! St. Goar is on the wrong side of the Rhine – meaning on the opposite side of the festival! There are also many Ferienwohnungen in St. Goarshausen (Apartments with kitchens) which are pretty cheap. Just Google “Ferienwohnung Loreley” Youth Hostel information. There is a youth hostel directly at the festival grounds. The WC/Showers are in the hall. - Beds cost 15.50 Euros per Person/per night breakfast included! It would be good to book complete rooms together! - They also have room for 50 tents on their grounds costing 9 Euro/per day breakfast included. - The youth hostel is not a hotel meaning you have to wash your dishes after eating etc. SANKT GOARSHAUSEN: ARRIVAL AND PLACES OF INTEREST Are there any places of interest in and around Sankt Goarshausen? The most famous point in town, which also brings the most tourists is the site of the Loreley rock. In St. Goarshausen there are two castles, Burg Katz (German Castle Cat, formerly Burg Neu-Katzenelnbogen) and Burg Maus (German Castle Mouse). Burg Katz is not open for visitors. There is a good view over the town from Burg Maus, and also visible is the ruins of Burg Rheinfels on the other side of Rhine. Are there tickets available at the box office on the festival ground? Of course, you can buy the tickets at the festival box office as long as the festival isn't sold-out. How and where do I get my Festival Wristband? Having purchased a festival ticket and showing it at the box office or cash's desk you will receive a festival wristband in addition to your festival ticket. Be sure to wear your festival wristband and to carry your festival ticket with you at all times. I've already purchased a Festival ticket, but can't make it to the MAGIC CIRCLE FESTIVAL. Can I refund my ticket? Sorry no, only if the Festival is cancelled. My ticket has been damaged. Is it still valid? Yes, as long as the tear-off part of the ticket isn't missing. Can I leave the Festival Grounds during the show? Yes, but your ticket will be invalid if you leave the festival grounds. You will therefore receive a wristband entering the festival ground, which substitutes your ticket. For re-entering the festival ground you'll have to show your undamaged wristband and your ticket, otherwise you'll have no claim on being let in again. ACCESS REGULATIONS How and where do I get my Festival Wristband? Having purchased a festival ticket and showing it at the box office or cash's desk you will receive a festival wristband in exchange. Am I allowed to bring seating accommodations on to the festival grounds with me such as folding chairs, stools or bath mats? No, only if you are disabled. You'll have to bring a doctor's certificate which says you need a seating accommodation (Disabled Persons). What am I not allowed to bring on to the Festival Grounds? Prohibited on the grounds are: - Cans - Canisters - Glass and plastic containers - Beverages larger than 1 liter in Tetra packs (cartons) - Pyrotechnical articles - Torch lights - Weapons of all kinds - Belts and wristbands with sharpened or "killer" spikes - Chairs - Recorders - Film cameras - Video cameras - Reflex cameras - highly sensitive digital cameras (over 5 mega pixel or a maximum focal length of more than 55 mm) - Any kind of open fires CAMPGROUND Campground information: There are two campgrounds available! There will be a festival campground set up by the venue owner and which will open on July 17. There is also a smaller all year private campground (http://www.loreley-camping.de/). These campgrounds are operated solely by their owners. Guests staying at one of the campgrounds do not have access to the opposite one. Assignment of parking- and camping space: The assignment of parking - and camping will be according to the signposting and stewards on-site. Free parking is included for owners of a festival ticket. There is enough parking space available on the terrain. So nobody will need to make use of unilluminated parking space in the surroundings of the festival ground. Parking on the campground is prohibited due to safety measures! Caravans: Caravans are allowed on both campgrounds. They will be situated on their own spaces and will have no access to electricity. Normal camping tickets are also valid for caravans. The designated spaces are also very near to the festival grounds. When does the festival campground open? The camping ticket for the festival campground is valid from July 17, 10 am. People who arrive earlier have no claim to the usage of the sanitary facilities. Please note that the security personal will show you your camping spot. People who choose spots on their own are to apt to waste needed space because they do not know the best way to position their tent. How much does the campground cost? The festival campground costs 25 Euros from July 17 – 19. Tickets are sold by the venue owner. The link will be provided as soon as it is opened. The private campgrounds cost 10 Euros per person/day (http://www.loreley-camping.de/) Access Controls campground to festival ground: Despite the fact, that the campground is only a few minutes away from the main exit, please arrange enough time for your way, if you plan to watch a certain band. At the the entrance points, there will be checks by security, that will not only wish to see your tickets and wristbands, but are also obliged to check you and your luggage to avoid that dangerous items (such as glass bottles, plastic bottles, knives etc.) as well as forbiffen cameras will be carried into the festival area. Please check the Bands section of the website. SIGNING SESSIONS Are the bands going to give autographs? MANOWAR and HolyHell will be giving autographs during the Magic Circle Festival. More details coming soon. BEVERAGES Am I allowed to take beverages on to the grounds? Generally no. Exception: Beverages with a maximum size of 1 Liter in originally sealed Tetra pack (carton). It is prohibited to take glass or plastic containers, cans and canisters and any kinds of alcohol on to the grounds. NO OPEN FIRE No open fire (campfires) are allowed in the camping ground due to your own safety. CAMERAS Am I allowed to take a camera on to the grounds? Yes, but only pocket cameras and digital cameras with a resolution of not more than 5 mega pixels. It is prohibited to take film cameras, video cameras, reflex cameras and highly sensitive digital cameras (over 5 mega pixel or a maximum focal length of more than 55 mm) on to the grounds. Only bearers of Press-Photo-Passes are allowed to enter with professional photo gear. In general all sound and film equipment designed to record is prohibited. Non-authorized equipment will be collected by security and can be picked up later at the exit. Any unauthorized photos, recordings and films found will be destroyed instantly incl. the devices they were made with. How do I get a Press-Photo-Pass? Only journalists and photographers who need to take photos doing press reports will be granted a Press-Photo-Pass. To get a Press-Photo-Pass you have to accredit yourself as a representative of the press. On the Magic Circle Festival Press Website you'll find an area to apply for a accreditation. Here you'll find all relevant information for the accreditation and also an application form for journalists. The area is password protected. To get your login information please contact [email protected]. CASH MACHINES (ATM) Will there be cash machines (ATM) at the festival grounds? The nearest ATM is located just across the main train station (Bahnhof) in Sankt Goarshausen. We will try to locate one at the festival grounds as well. HEALTH Kick ass and mind your head – when the sun burns down from the sky We all hope for fantastic sunshine weather during the festival. Please don’t forget to protect your skin with sun lotion from the intensive July sun. If you think, using sun lotion- skin cancer is uncool. Please also make sure, you’ll drink enough water so your body can handle the extra effort to be made during the festival. It will need a lot more water to keep itself from dehydrating. There will be still water made available at a special price at the festival. Use head protection! RAIN Make sure to bring rain-proof clothing, too..weather, as we know, can be unpredictable! But: raincapes can be purchased at the merchandise stand. Born to rock, drink and fuck Rock…We all love Heavy Metal. And we all love to hear well! So: don’t forget to use earplugs. You can bring your own, but we will have earplugs available at the merchandise stands. Drink…We don’t want to spoil anyone’s fun in drinking beer, but also consider that in plain sunlight and heat, your body is exposed to extreme stress and alcohol dehydrates the body, too! Don’t overestimate your capacities and don’t forget to hydrate, too!!! Fuck…who intends to find a new partner during the festival and plans to do “it”-practise Safer Sex! The regulations of the german law for the protection of youth and children are valid. No liability given for the loss of valuables. CHILDREN AND YOUTHS What is the festival's age limit? You must be 16 or older to atend the festival. TRASH DEPOSIT The entire Loreley Plateau belongs to the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage which makes the location a very special place. We will try to behold the beauty of the place and need the help of all the festival visitors to achieve this. We will collect a trash deposit – a standard at most festivals - at the arrival of the campers. Each camper (NOT only every tent!) has to buy a coin at the price of 5 EUR and will get a trash bag in return. When you deliver the full bag upon departure to any of the securities, you will get your 5 EUR back. We appreciate your understanding and help regarding this matter! DISABLED PERSONS Are disabled persons (walking disability) allowed to take walking canes or folding chairs on to the festival grounds? You must show your disabled persons pass and also a doctor's certificate which says you depend on a walking cane or a seating accommodation for events such as the Magic Circle Festival. Do the escorts of disabled persons have free admission? Principally, the escorts of disabled persons have free admission. Although it is required that there is a note in your disabled persons pass, which says that you depend on an escort. Your pass must be carried with you and must be shown on entering the festival grounds. SAFETY First of all, all visitors shall have the biggest possible fun! The more attentive your are, the safer it is for all of you. Of course, there will be enough security and police on the ground you can address in case of problems... Some helpful hints: - Please only take the most important things with you. A bank card is safe, please leave unnecessary valuables at home. - Lock your car well and don’t leave objects of value lying in it. - Get to know your tent neighbours so you can spot strangers that don’t belong into your closer surroundings - Mark your tent well with your name, so you will make it useless for possible thieves. Same with sleeping bags etc. - Carry valuables close to your body. - If you need medical products, please also carry these with you. - When asleep, make sure your valuables aren’t all together in one place. Don’t give thieves a chance! SUPERMARKET Will there be a supermarket on the festival grounds? We are planning to set up a small discount store where hygiene articles can be bought. The nearest supermarkets are in Sankt Goarshausen: EDEKA, REWE – Opening hours: Mo. – Sa., 7 am – 8 pm. ANIMALS Are animals allowed on the festival ground? No. Are dogs or other animals allowed on to the Camping Ground? Principally, yes. But we would like to appeal to you for the protection of the animals to leave your pets at home or be otherwise taken care of. An open air camping ground is surely not the nicest place for an animal because of the extreme sound level and the crowds of people. TOILETS, SHOWERS The camping ticket for the festival campground includes the usage of the showers (male/female separation) and toilette facilities. There will be toilette houses as well as “Johnny on the Spots.” To find out where these are located, please check the map. FOOD Food range offered: We will have a broad variety of food and beverages for meat eaters and vegetarians. Ono sto je OK u Kavarni je to sto ti npr. pijes celu dan i noc i sutra onda ustanes mamuran iz satora i krenes do radnje sa namerom da kupis nesto da prozderes...al zavrsis sa ekipom na rakiji (fuck the food) Ne pamtim kad sam poslednji put toliko zdrao rakije,piva,mastike,whiskey-a,a jeo (uglavnom) jednom dnevno Nije tu bitno ko je odakle dosao na festival. Video si da se tu zdralo sa svima,bez obzira ko kojim jezikom govori i ko je sta tu (rakija = conecting people ) Haha,tell me about it,me too (I mean,I didn't miss Dream Theater,but the rest of the sentence is true ) I told you,it was really,really great this summer (as for drinking with you,as for the concerts that were) - I can say only the best things for Kavarna festival! I'll see to come next year again Yeah,too bad. On that day we were "curing" ourselves from rakija and palinka (we drank only beer;till the concert). After that we were in hurry to get tickets (in the last minute we found the tickets for the front! ),so we entered in just before Manowar started. Ja cu verovatno vec od 8 uvece biti tamo na zeleznickoj u Beogradu.Letnja sezona je u toku,tako da dodjite nesto ranije (jedno pola sata ranije ili kad vec ko stigne) da bi zauzeli mesta,tj. kupe samo za nas (kapiram da niko od vas ne kupuje rezervacije ).Da ne bi posle pola nas delilo jedan kupe sa svercerima cigareta,a druga polovina drugi kupe sa pijanim alkosima i belim robljem I,ono bitnije,da bi do granice lepo spavali celu noc moramo prvo da se ponapijamo k'o svinji Jer,trezni necemo spavati,a onda smo sledeceg dana najebali dok se tako neispavani budemo dovukli do Crnog mora...Ko ne pije - leti kroz prozor Zajebancija. Uglavnom,bitno je da zauzmeno mesta (kupe) za nas,posle cemo lako. Javili su se i ljudi koji ne vise na forumu - u slucaju da ne znate nikog od ove ekipe sto se ovde dogovorara da ide,samo dodjite do voza za Sofiju i kad vidite grupu 'cupavaca' to smo mi Ako ne-znam-kako ne uspete da nas nadjete mozete da me cimnete na 064/12-89-485,pa cu vam objasniti gde smo zaseli. Pokupio sam red voznje (polazak i dolazak) svi relevantnih buseva i vozova iz Sofije za Varnu/Kavarnu,pa cemo se usput dogovoriti sta cemo i kako cemo kad stignemo u Sofiju (dal busom,dal vozom).To nije problem. Ako neko ima karte da ponese (karte,one obicne karte za igranje;preporucujem "madjarske" karte,da bi mogli da igramo 'lore' ) - OK.Moze i sah Jer,dok stignemo tamo gde smo krenuli,proci ce 100 godina It's a long way to the top if you want rock'n'roll... P.S. - @onaj fenser,sto je pobeg'o avionom:ako slucajno citas ovo,posalji mi na PM koji broj telefona koristis tamo.Trebas ces mi nesto P.S. 2 - jel neko ima pojma kako stoje stvari sa carinom? OK,znam ono da je dozvoljeno do 1 litar zestokog alkoholnog pica po osobi (znaci,svi po flasu rakije! ),nego nesto razmisljam da ponesem kameru,a ne znam dal ce me cimati zbog toga na granici... EDIT: onima koji idu na druge dane (a ne na prvi): Preporucio bih vam da krenete iz BG-a ujutru (u 7-8,kad vec krece voz iz Bg-a za Sofiju),pa ste u Sofiji popodne,a onda mozete da hvatate nocni voz do Varne. Imaju u 21.30-stize u 5.30 ujutru,pa u 22.30-stize u 8 i 23.35-stize u 7.50. Cena za prvi i treci je 22 leva,a za drugi 21 lev (2 leva=1 evro) u jednom pravcu.Ako se uzme povratna onda je jeftinije. A onda iz Varne imate u 7.30,pa u 9.30 bus za Kavarnu.Cena je 6-7 leva. Tako da ste onda ujutru u Kavarni,smesti te se i mozete da picite na more Mi krecemo veceras,pa se javite kad stignete tamo (ja cu biti u kampu)
