Italian symphonic metal masters RHAPSODY OF FIRE will release an epic monument called "The Cold Embrace Of Fear - A Dark Romantic Symphony" on October 15 via Nuclear Blast Records. Comments RHAPSODY OF FIRE guitarist Luca Turilli: "For this special CD we composed a unique song of around 35 minutes divided in seven 'acts.' "Looking at the title, you can easily imagine that such long and epic song will show the most cinematic and orchestral side of our band, all our passion for the world of cinema we love so much and that always represented our main influence while composing the RHAPSODY's music. "Essentially it is a long huge song, sounding very symphonic, full of orchestral sections very soundtrack-oriented, narrations and spoken parts. More than in other cases we tried to create a real movie atmosphere with very dynamic musical results, also thanks to the help of the English actors that gave voice to different charachters. You will just need to close your eyes and explore those new emotional dimensions we wrote the music for." The lyrics of this monumental, epic symphony are based on the "dark secret saga" and represent a new chapter, directly connected to the band's latest album, "The Frozen Tears Of Angels". Luca: "After the long journey to the icy frozen northlands at the borders of the known world, while facing concrete natural obstacles and the inner demons lying in the depths of their conscience, the five main charachters reach the ancient gothic fortress of Har-Kuun, a real monument of evil trapped between ice and snow, the mystic place where the Erian's book could be finally found. "'The Cold Embrace Of Fear' tells about the entrance of those bravehearts in the ancestral world of Har-Kuun and the dramatic search for the holy book of the angels, only possible way to understand something more about the dark secret threatening the whole known world. Also in this case I liked to create particular 'bridges' connecting the new chapter of the saga with our modern life on the basis of symbolism, ancient wisdom and spiritual evolution. "To someone who knows something about modern psychology and the study of the different 'self,' the hidden geometries and gothic labyrinths of Har-Kuun will reveal themselves very clearly." Once again, legendary actor Christopher Lee was chosen for the spoken parts as a main narrator. "We couldn't imagine to release something like this without his fundamental participation," Luca says. "Sir Lee is one member of the RHAPSODY OF FIRE's family since a lot of time and we love him not only as an actor but also as man. Because of his great and majestic personality he has surely the aura of a king of the ancient times."

Pa da, ali ovi su makar za protekle 4 godine izgradili dovoljan kredit da im se moze - evo, cak i na novom albumu vec rade polako.

Najjaca diskografija ikad?

Pazi, perspektiva fana je jedno a perspektiva onog ko je to snimio je nesto drugo. Esa je tu glavni i on je 100 puta govorio da nikako nije zadovoljan mnogim Amorphis snimcima, pa cak i celim albumima ("Far..."), tako da je njihovo pravo da sa svojim pesmama rade sta hoce, a sve u sluzbi toga da pesme zvuce sto je bolje moguce. Ko voli - volece, ko ne - imace i dalje stare snimke, niko njih ne dira.

Pazi, tu vec stizemo do pojedinacnog ukusa, tj. razloga zasto ljudi slusaju muziku. Sta hocu da kazem: primera radi, ja licno obozavam "Drowned Maid", to mi je jedna od najjacih Amorphis pesama. Ali, ukoliko oni npr. sad snime i nju i ako OTKINU kako je urade - instrumentalno, vokalno, produkcijski... pa nema 'leba da cu tu verziju slusati redje od originalne jer, koliko god ja voleo tu kultnost prvog izdanja, meni je zvuk na prvom mestu. Kao kad bi ti neko ponudio tako dve verzije neke pesme bez ikakvog predznanja o tome koja je starija, kultnija ili sta ti ja znam... nego da ih jednostavno filtriras po kvalitetu svirke. Ista stvar i za Emperor, nista protiv ne bih imao ponovo snimljenog ITNE.

"Axioma Ethica Odini" will be made available as a special edition in gatefold seven-inch format with the entire album on CD and a seven-inch vinyl single as a bonus, as well as a regular jewel case and double vinyl. The bonus seven-inch single will include the songs "Jotunblod (Doom)" and "Migration". Commented ENSLAVED songwriter and guitarist Ivar Bjørnson: "ENSLAVED wanted to do something really special for the bonus edition of the new album, 'Axioma Ethica Odini'. It was decided to go ahead and record two very special songs, in a very special environment. "The first song on the EP is 'Jotunblod (Doom)'. This is basically ENSLAVED 'covering' ENSLAVED. "The original 'Jotunblod' can be found on the legendary 'Frost' album from back in 1994. The self-cover version, 'Jotunblod (Doom)', was initially specially made for the Roadburn festival 2010, where ENSLAVED were Artists in Residence (altogether the audience saw four ENSLAVED-related concerts that weekend). "Why a doom version? "This version was made to honor that festival and its goers for their open-mindedness on one side. On the other side: ENSLAVED wanted to challenge themselves by re-arranging one of their most iconic songs. The result was so effectual that the band wanted to make a one-off recording of the version; that is how it ended up as one side of this bonus 7" EP. "The song is based on the chaotic forces of the Giants, the Jotuns, from Northern Mythology. "While the original recording from 'Frost' is a somewhat obvious sound portrait of these forces (fast, chaotic and at the same time, complex and melodic), this doom version highlights another specter of the primeval forces: the heavy, from-the-core-of-the-Earth-type-sluggish and unrelenting march of chaos that can't be stopped. "The other song on the 7" is another one that hasn’t been recorded before, but has been played live! 'Migration' is, plain and simple, song number six from the obscure collaboration between ENSLAVED and Norwegian metal-jazzers SHINING that took place at Molde International Jazz Fest in 2008. "'Migration' represents the atmosphere that ENSLAVED brought to table in the collaboration. It represents both the escapism and extreme presence delivered in ENSLAVED's music and concepts: an existential paradox in itself. "These two songs were recorded in the woods of Valevåg — a small village on the West coast of Norway that is the birth place of ENSLAVED's Grutle Kjellson. ENSLAVED got help from local farmers with driving their backline and recording equipment deep into the woods of Valevåg (close to Le Cimitiere de Marin, made famous by Norwegian composer Fartein Valen). The séance was recorded by Iver Sandøy (who co-produced the drums for 'Axioma Ethica Odini') and mixed in his Solslottet Studios. "The thought behind releasing the album as a 7" EP with the album inside hails from ENSLAVED's undying vinyl and patriotism and is a tribute to the eternal principle of an album release being something special and important!"
