preporucujem da se procita...s'obzirom da ljudi lude zadnjih dana po forumima(bukvalno...)...sve je jako razumno...i poprilicno provereno...osim gde nije naglaseno drugacije...
It must be getting time for a release of Chinese Democracy now....right,...please?
They're going around all kind of rumours when it comes to tour dates and release dates, and I've read about a thousand different article about the Guns N' Roses leaks. Getting a bit annoying really, but I thought it'd be a good time to go and search for some interesting Guns N' Roses news/facts/rumours.
It seems ... or at least I hope we're gonna get chinese democracy in march or may ... I'm not gonna make an overview of all the potential release dates in the near future but here are some that caught my attention;
March/May is going around as potential months for release
The one I found most interesting was probably this one (along with the interview Slash gave, since it was quite a surprise hearing him talking about the album being released);
A Guns N' Roses greatest hits album will be out in March, and in May Chinese Democracy will finally see the light of day.
That was taken from the newsletter from Italian festival Gods of Metal. If you know how to read Italian, I'd say take a look here, 'cause that's the one I'm talking about.
After first bursting onto the music scene in 1985 and going on to sell over 90 million records worldwide, Axl Rose is planning the release of their latest studio album before the concert.

A swarm of controversy has followed the leaking of several tracks from Guns N' Roses' long-awaited new record "Chinese Democracy", rumored to be set for a March 28th release date.

Slash on Chinese Democracy; it's coming out in March. Listen to the inverview on Sp1at.com
And since Tommy Stinson and other Guns N' Roses members more than once said that a tour would follow after the release it would make sense if we got it the next couple of months. Richard Fortus also posted the tourdates on his website (To take away any doubts!)
Here are the current Guns N' Roses planned gigs;
May 27- Rock in Rio Festival, Lisbon, Portugal
June 4- Gods Of Metal Festival, Bologna, Italy (TBC?)
June 9- RDS Arena, Dublin, Ireland (Support act; Motley Crue)
June 11- Download Festival, Donnington, England
June 15-17- Nova Rock, Burgenland, Austria
Rumours that Guns N' Roses are set to play at Ozzfest are going around too, though they're not the only names for the top of the bill there, System of a Down and Metallica are other candidates. The Guns N'Roses' US tour promoter has said that GN'R are not doing Ozzfest.
Personally I thought Rock Am Ring would be a good option for Guns N' Roses (and not only for them, an extra date for me that'd be too!). And it seems that I was right, rumours for that festival are getting more serious too. It started with just being a good date, since they were going to be in Europe headling big festivals anyway, then we got to read this;
From htgth.com:
You know I'm a student in Cologne and at my free time I work at the tape archive of the tv station WDR.
WDR are usually broadcasting RAR here in Germany. German board members will be able to confirm this.
However, today I got an order of some GN'R videos (WTTJ, KOHD, YCBM), and so I asked what this was for, if they just wanted to use the music (they do so from time to time) or if they wanna do something about GNR, etc.
The answer I got was, that GN'R will play Rock Am Ring and they are preparing for that.
And now Blabbermouth.net posted this;
GUNS N' ROSES' European tour is now shaping up as follows:
May 27 - Lisbon, POR @ Rock In Rio (Lisbon)
Jun. 3-4 - ITA @ Gods of Metal
Jun. 3-6 - Nurburgring, GER @ Rock am Ring
Jun. 9-11 - Donington, UK @ Download
Jun. 15-17 - Pannonia Fields, AUT @ Nova Rock
That's taken from Blabbermouth.net, click the link for the full article.
not that Blabbermouth.net has been reliable when it comes to Guns n' Roses the last years, but not much has.
Other potential festivals Gn'R may attend are;
- Roskilde
- Rock Am Ring
- Rock Im Park
DemocracyRose said something about Roskilde Festival on TheNewGuns.com. Something that is, 'cause it doesn't really say much.
have just been in contact with the spokesman of The Roskilde Festival...
I asked him about GNR play RF this year...
He said: Well its exciting... Please keep an eye on our website...
There's also going one (very small) rumour about a gig in Paris, but it's unconfirmed and the source is unreliable. Anyway, that rumour says that Gn'R are supposed to perform in Pairs, France, in an Indoor Arena called 'Zénith' on June the 25th.
Of course after the leaking of the demos not only release dates for the album and concert dates are things which rumours are spread about. It is said that the CD which contained the leaked demos had more on it than just the three songs we got (T.W.A.T., I.R.S. and Better). Rumour has it that also Prostitute and The General are 'set to be leaked'. Set to be leaked is a rather strange way of putting it if you ask me, but I stumbled across that while reading article about the leaks. There are all kind of theories about how and why the demos were posted on the internet. Some of 'em were rather ridiculous and some sites really should take itself offline for writing such idiotic things.
Here are some of the 'reasons/opinions' or whatever about why the songs were leaked;
- with the demos the fans were supposed to get ready for an annoucement concerning the release of Chinese Democracy
- get people to know the sound of the new Guns N' Roses, which is, according to some sites, not that far away from old sound as feared. Personally I think it's quite a difference.
- The record company leaked the songs aiming at forcing axl to release Chinese Democracy.
Then a reason which I find rather debatable...;
- Axl leaked the tracks himself, because he wants to redo/re-record the songs with Slash if not the entire original Gn'R lineup.
- Management is requesting the radio stations play the "IRS" track in heavy rotation. I'm not sure what to think about this one, if it's leaked anyway, tehy might as well play it as much as possible right?
If that's what they want, than they at least have some succes, because I.R.S. is currently placed at #49 on the list ofActive Rock National Airplay. Not bad for a demo...?
It also seems Axl got a life again, or at least, that's what the press wants us / makes us (to) beleive. First the Korn party, and then the night the 'clubowners go to hear Chinese Democracy material'. He seems to act more open, but that has got to be a joke. How on earth can someone hide an album for a decade...an album that half of the world loves in advance, and the rest hates it in advance...and then just walk into a club and let someone hear it because you want to party? That really doesn't makes sense if you ask me. The first time I.R.S. was leaked we had sort of a clear story/explanation on how and why it was leaked, this time we dont really. Which makes me think that it was leaked on purpose. Why else was it leaked so shortly after the time Axl spoke and why else were the concerts announced so quickly afterwards?
And it's funny to see how some writers from various big internet sites (sometimes even connected to newspapers) still think that not only Guns N' Roses will perform at Download (which is now pretty sure that it will happen), but that they're going to perform with the original line-up. Ross Halfin was the first one to say that Guns were going to perform at Download, Sp1at.com posted that he was half correct thus far. Halfin was also the one who said that they'd do the festival with the old line-up. Some sites wrote about the download festival after the leaks, most of them are, obviously, rather sceptical about a reunion (at least in the near future, now that Axl has an album he worked on for so long and that it's time to prove himself without the other guys).
And while searching for info, I stumbled across this quote about the new demos, I just loved it!
"We'll keep on playing this until the cops shut us down", surrounding the return of the iconic rockers.
Now then if anyone read all of that ... maybe you'd read this question too;
Anyone else surprised to hear that Guns N' Roses is gonna perform with Motley Crue? I was rather surprised actually, and it's the only normal gig too, the rest is all festival. I wander if they're planning on doing more 'normal' gigs...
