Manchester City have terminated discussions with AC Milan over the proposed transfer of former world footballer of the year Kaka. City confirmed in a statement they had pulled out of negotiations as there was little chance of a deal being done. Executive chairman Garry Cook told the club's official website: "Whilst Manchester City Football Club has an obvious interest in world-class players of the quality of Kaka, we owe it to our fans that such a transfer must work on every level; commercially, financially, in terms of results on the field and within Manchester City's broader community." The dramatic development came at the end of a day when it seemed Kaka was moving tantalisingly close to joining the Eastlands outfit. Cook, along with other members of the City delegation, had meetings with Milan officials and Kaka's father, Bosco Leite, on Monday. But it soon became apparent that the complexity of the transfer was not going to work in City's favour and the player, who never spoke face-to-face with the Blues, was not keen on leaving Milan anyway. Kaka had pointed to his heart when appearing at the window of his house to wave at protesters who had gathered outside to make their feelings known tonight. The move was slightly ambiguous but, just minutes before City's statement, Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi delivered the news all Rossoneri supporters wanted to hear. "Kaka is staying at Milan," he told Italia 7 TV. "He has turned down the money and he won't ask for an increase. He prefers to stay at Milan."

Lepo sto prodjose, ali Jelena je stvarno curka Srpska teniserka Jelena Janković rekla je da je zadovoljna novom haljinom, ali ne i patikama na startu Australijan opena. Izveštače sa prvog grend slema sezone je interesovala zelena haljina Jankovićeve, a posebno njena najava da će uskoro i sama kreirati odeću. "Sviđa mi se haljina, volim zelenu boju. Haljina je svetla, čini mi se da izgleda ženstveno", kazala je 23-godišnja Beograđanka. Jankovićeva je nedavno potpisala ugovor sa kineskom kompanijom Anta Sports Produkts, koja ju je opremila za turnir u Melburnu. "Haljinu nisam ja kreirala, ali ću ubuduće sa dizajnerskim timom praviti svoje haljine, ali i raznu drugu odeću sa mojim imenom", kazala je Jankovićeva posle pobede od 2:0 (6:1, 6:3). "Oni (Anta Sports) su novi u tenisu, a za mene je velika čast što su me izabrali za prvo zaštitno lice", dodala je najbolja teniserka sveta. Jankovićeva, ipak, nije bila sasvim zadovoljna opremom. Problem su bile patike. "Stopala su mi gorela. Djonovi su se upalili. Verovatno ste i videli da sam stavljala led na stopala, pokušavala da ih ohladim... Reći ću im da stave neku klimu u patike. Tehnologija napreduje, a to bi zaista bilo lepo", navela je nasmejana Jankovićeva. Prvog dana takmičenja u Melburnu temperatura je bila 36 stepeni Celzijusa, dok je na terenima još toplije.
