When asked about when fans can expect to hear new music from DOWN, Windstein replied, "We finally [started] jamming [new material] at Phil's [Anselmo, vocals] and we're putting out four six-song EPs. We've got the first one written and it's all hard-hitting songs; we don't have any acoustic [stuff on it]. We don't know yet what we're gonna do, but we figure with the state of music today, as far as retail [goes] and people not really buying [music]; number one, the EP will be cheaper; number two, we can get it out quicker and then we can keep putting out the [product]. We literally can put out an EP the first of the year and then have another one come out the fall of next year and give [the fans] music a lot sooner than what we've given them in the past, 'cause it always takes fucking years. Swedish extreme metallers SHINING are in talks with Andy La Rocque about recording their eighth album at the KING DIAMOND guitarist's Sonic Train studios in Varberg, Sweden in January-February 2012. Commented La Rocque: "I'm currently listening to their last album to see what we can develop on the next album. I think it's important to preserve the style of the band but drag out 110 percent of all the bandmembers, and I will be present at some of their rehearsals and pre-production."

According to Musictap.net, Concord Records will release a RUSH DVD and Blu-ray titled "Time Machine" on September 27. The disc will most likely contain footage of RUSH's April 15 concert at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio filmed by the award-winning documentary makers Banger Productions from Toronto in Canada, who have received international critical acclaim for their previous movies "Metal: A Headbanger's Journey", "Global Metal" and the RUSH documentary called "Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage".
