Swedish black metallers MARDUK have now confirmed that their upcoming studio album will be the band's final effort to feature drummer Emil Dragutinovic. A source close to Emil told BLABBERMOUTH.NET that the drummer officially quit the group on November 1 but has agreed to perform on the new CD as a session musician (but only "if he gets paid upfront"). MARDUK will enter Endarker studio in December 2006/January 2007 to begin recording the new CD for an April 2007 release. A "massive" tour will follow. Dragutinovic is currently working with former MARDUK vocalist Legion (a.k.a. Erik Hagsted) and ex-MARDUK bassist B.War (a.k.a. Roger "Bogge" Svensson) on their ELIZIUM project (formerly REBELANGELS). AFM Records has set a January 19, 2007 European release date for "Thrash Anthems", a collection of reworked/re-recorded versions of the band's classic tracks. The CD was recorded at House of Music Studio in Germany) and Little Creek Studio in Switzerland with almost the same team that worked on the group's "Inventor of Evil" CD: DESTRUCTION's live sound engineers Gerd Krenz, Franky Winkelmann and GURD/POLTERGEIST mastermind VO Pulver. Swedish black metallers WATAIN have inked a deal with Season of Mist to issue their third full-length album in Europe. The tentative release date is set for March 2007. A European tour will follow. The recording of the album will take place at the infamous Necromorbus Studio (FUNERAL MIST, MALIGN, OFERMOD, etc). And I will never deny that thanks to Michael's voice and the two 'Keepers' from HELLOWEEN I started loving the melodic speed metal around 20 years ago. Reunited New Jersey metallers ATTACKER have set "King of Hate" as the title of their fifth album, which they expect to record early next year for a fall 2007 release via Sentinel Steel Records.
