u principu znacenje je isto, samo je jedno imenica (trash), a drugo glagol (thrash). smece kao prljavi otpaci se kaze "garbage", a "trash" mu dodje kao nesto polomljeno i neupotrebljivo. postoji i izraz "junk", koji se koristi za otpad u celosti i narocito za tehniku i sastavne delove.
