THEATRE OF TRAGEDY: New Album Update

 

Norway's THEATRE OF TRAGEDY, who recently inked a deal with AFM Records, have posted the following message on their official web site:

 

"Things are coming together now and the songs are already now sounding great.

Last week the finishing touch on the bass were laid down by Magnus Westgaard (Nell's brother), our 'rent-a-brilliant bassplayer.' He went through the songs like knife through butter. One of the best sounding bass rig we've ever heard. We started by recording the synths last week as well. This time we actually recorded the songs live, instead of programming lots of stuff. It sounds and feels much better with all the songs. On some songs we even got the chance to record some real grand-piano. Last Friday the boys (Lorentz, Rico, Børge & Vegard) went into Fagerborg Studio in Oslo to record on a Steinway & sons C4 grand piano. Not used to the heavyweight keys Lorentz hammered his way through hell and back to get it right. After the molestation of the grand piano we all went back to the studio happy as hell. It sounds fantastic!!! We're going to put up some video clips of it. Just hang around this space for more info.

 

"As most of the songs has strings as a major part of the sound, we brought in Sareeta from RAM-ZET (whom we befriended on the 'Assembly' tour 2002) to play some violin for us. She just received a new electrical violin which she used for these recordings. A pure evil specimen, with the beautiful name Thea.

 

"Right now Frank and Vegard are in the studio electrifying the songs with a wall of guitar sound!. Just to make sure the sound is going to be killer, we amped them up with Engl, Mesa Boogies and Marshalls to play their Gibson Gothic guitars through. IT SOUNDS HEAVY AS F**K!"

 

In other news, THEATRE OF TRAGEDY will co-headline two Greek shows with SAMAEL in December. Confirmed dates are as follows:

Ovaj bend mi je mnogo znacio... I sad, ali vremenom sam otkrila mnoge ( bolje ) bendove. Prvi album, i "Velvet Darkness..." su mi No.1.

Ovaj bend je za relativno kratko vreme prosao veliki put: od odlicnog benda do sranja!

Norway's THEATRE OF TRAGEDY have finalized the track listing for their new album, "Storm", due in Germany and Switzerland on Friday, March 24 via AFM Records. The rest of Europe will follow on Monday, March 27. A U.S. release date will be announced later. The CD was produced by Rico Darum and mixed by Greg Reely (PARADISE LOST, FEAR FACTORY, FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY, SKINNY PUPPY, etc.) at The Green Jacket studios in Richmond, B.C., Canada. A single, "Storm", is scheduled for release on February 24 via AFM Records/Soulfood. In addition to the title cut (check out audio sample at this location), the single will include a club remix of "Storm", another album track ("Begin and End"), and an exclusive song that will only be available on this single, entitled "Beauty in Deconstruction". A video for "Storm" will be shot in the near future.

Novi album je prosecan. Odlicna produkcija, to se mora priznati, ali deluje kao da su pokusali da se neuspesno vrate unazad, pa to onda tako usminkaju da zvuci kao Evanescence, pri cemu mi je Silence nekako narocito odbojna pesma. Onaki, ima hitica koji zarazno zvuce, ali nekako mu sve to deluje usiljeno. Mislim, vize mi se dopada od prvih albuma koji su mi onako bas neprijatni za slusanje, ovaj album recimopodseca nekako na Musique, ali su mi pomenuti album i Assembly ipak nekako drazi od ovog.

''Storm'' nije nista posebno, dobro upakovan, na tragu pocetaka, ali neuspesno.Meni je, naprotiv, ''Assembly'' odbojan, dok je ''Aegis'' genijalan.Kako bilo, bez Liv to vise nije to.

u potpunosti se slazem. mene njihova dva poslednja albuma uzasno podsecaju na madonu.

I couldn't agree more....

 

Prva tri albuma su nesto najbolje sto je gothic metal ikad ponudio....

Ostali su najobicnije njesra koje nema ni G o gothica,a kamoli metala,a razlog je verovatno naziv/refren jedne od najpoznatijih pesama grupe ABBA...

 

Jedini album koji sam ja mogla svariti je Aegis, ovo ostalo, bez uvrede ikome jel, je cista bljuvotina.

Da, jedino su prvi albumi dobri... Ostalo... blah... ToT za mene ne postoji od kad je Liv otisla.

Ja od njih volim onu klasicnu gothic fazu,u kakvoj su bili na pocetku,omiljeni album mi je Aegis,samo sto se tekstovi mogu slabo,tcn nikako razumeti....takodje mi se svidja A rose for the dead mini cd i Velvet darkness they fear.....

sto se Liv tice,ima sladak glasic,nije za neke zahtevne pesme,vise za neke letargo-melanholicne pesmice tipa onih na Aegisu.....sto se izgleda tice,jaaako je ruzna,mada ne izgleda lose u Nymphetamine spotu,dobra je ideja za ljuljasku.
