Tetragrammaton Cleric Posted February 19, 2007 Report post Posted February 19, 2007 What can be said of darkness and things dark and forbidden, that is, what is the substance and purpose of darkness?Let us consider for a moment what the Light, the ''opposite'' of Darkness represents.Let us consider ourselves in connection to the afore mentioned categories. Light is day, the Sun, the ego, the rational self that is carrying on the multitudes of daily obligations; the light is the deal we did with ourselves and other fellow humans: the deal that assures us that the grass is green, that the sky is blue (although we have proof that it is not), that we must live and die according to rules created by our very selves in order to nurish and protect this same illusion that blinds us by its light.Light is ''good'', light is what we think we want, light is a deal.All is safe and sound in the light, business as usual. But what of the darkness? Night follows day, and we go to sleep, most to the deaf, dumb and blind sleep of fatigue and escape from the ordinary world exposed in the precious light, the light which binds us to other men. But for a precious few, the Dark brings no sleep.It brings solitude, exclusion, the face-to-face moment with themselves and the demons that lurk just beyond the brink, waiting to bring horrors and dark wonders to obliterate their minds with new horizons. The dark is living, the dark is not empty: it is the pure animal, primitive side the key to freedom, the freedom of which I have not the slightest idea, but still I can sense it through many layers of light that still blind me.It is not the everyday light I long for; it is the Light so bright that it is Darkness, eternal and omnipotent. Милица Posted February 20, 2007 Report post Posted February 20, 2007 Privukla me je asocijacija na Therion, a zadzala snaga i ubedljivost (kada na ovom podforumu vidim nesto na engleskom, paznja mi obicno popusti nakon dva-tri reda). Iako sama ova "filozofija" nije nista novo, tako je savrseno opisana, ubedljivo i sazeto, vidi se - iz ugla osobe koja dobro zna o cemu govori. Ovaj tekst mi vise lici na neki ugao posmatranja ili prikaz licnog stava, nego na literarno delo. Ali u principu je sjajno, svaka cast! Jes da je u pitanju metaforichna prichica, al' i realno gledano Tama tj. crno nije odsustvo svetla vech UV svetlo koje oko nije u stanju da registruje tako da u neku ruku i jeste 'the Light so bright that it is Darkness'. Upravo tako, hvala na obracanju paznje. Zvuci kao odlomak iz nekog srednjovekovnog texta... To mi je i bila namera. ...there is no darkness, only the absence of light... Cela poenta mog teksta. Колико је способан да из себе изнедри светлост стварања ако је стално уморан? Уколико је ноћ део дана када се ужаси и сами јављају, чему - призивати их? Човек, без помагала, не види тмином, тако је и говорећи о духовној/менталној тами - препуштен на милост и немилост. Слобода? Не, само црнило, безнађе и мржња. Милица Posted March 12, 2007 Report post Posted March 12, 2007 Vidis, moje shvatanje ovog teksta je potpuno drugacije. Prvo, nisam ga uopste dozivela na nekom religijskom, tacnije verskom nivou. Zatim, cini mi se da su "fizicki" dan i noc upotrebljeni jedino kao simbolika, koja samo uvodi u pricu. Ovaj Mrak o kome se ovde radi me pre asocira kao onaj u kome se nalazi istinska Svetlost (ona koja se javlja tek u najdubljoj tami). Dakle, sigurno ne na mrak u kome svi spavaju u bukvalnom, nego u figurativnom smislu reci. To bi bile i (na toliko nacina vec obradjivane) misli kao npr. - da bi se spoznalo pravo svetlo treba "iskljuciti" sva lazna, zatim price o mudrostima koje su skrivene daleko od "svetlosti dana" (a ni ta "svetlost dana" nije bukvalna), o lekcijama koje se mogu nauciti tek ako covek iskusi bol, "dno" i neku mracniju stranu sebe itd... Ja u tome takodje vidim i neki dalek odjek onoga "per aspera ad astra", mada to je samo moja asocijacija. I moram da podvucem da je ovo cist subjektivni dozivljaj, koji se mozda ne poklapa cak ni sa onim sto je "pisac hteo da kaze". Toliko...
