The Red Hot Chili Peppers are currently in a Los Angeles studio finishing up work on their as-yet-untitled new album, Rolling Stone reports.
Singer Anthony Kiedis is wrapping up the final vocal tracks for the material, which is being produced by Rick Rubin.
Guitarist John Frusciante told Rolling Stone that the album contains some of the heaviest songs the Chili Peppers have ever recorded, but also features "a lot of beautiful, soaring melodies."
The new disc, which has no release date as yet, is the follow-up to 2002's "By The Way."
