Swedish/German extreme metallers ARCH ENEMY have set "Khaos Legions" as the title of their new album, due in May via Century Media Records.

Drummer Dave Haley of Tasmania's technical death metallers PSYCROPTIC has issued the following update: "Well, 2010 was a pretty busy year for PSYCROPTIC. We released our first-ever DVD in early 2010 and toured Australia with DECAPITATED to promote the release. We played China and Inner Mongolia; we were the first Western band to play the city of HoHot in Inner Mongolia; crazy stuff! We toured Europe with our close friends CEPHALIC CARNAGE and rounded out the year with a U.S. tour with NILE. "In between all of this we were hard at work writing our new album, which we're happy to say is fully written. It's as yet untitled, but we are throwing a few names around. We start tracking the drums on February 14th at Red Planet Studios, and once completed we will be moving to Joe's [Haley; PSYCROPTIC guitarist] studio to complete all the rest of the recording. We'll be taking our time on this one, as we have felt a little rushed in the past... The material is great so we want to ensure the recording matches. We'll post studio progress reports to keep everyone updated. "Look out for the new album later this year!!"

Guitarist Moloch of Sumerian thrashing black metallers MELECHESHwill be forced to sit out the first few dates of the band's European tour with NILE, DEW-SCENTED, ZONARIA and DARKRISE due to circumstances beyond the group's control. Greg den Hartog will fill in until Moloch is able to rejoin the band on the road. Moloch said, "I have been closely working with Greg in anticipation of this; he is ready and will do a great job." Commented guitarist Emil Nyström: "We've had some great tours the last couple of years with Markus and we're going to miss him bad. But sometimes people need to move on and Markus needed a change in life. We wish him all the best for his future ventures. The departure will not affect our upcoming plans and tours. We've got a good friend of ours stepping in on our upcoming European tour with NILE, MELECHESH, DEW-SCENTED and DARKRISE."
Finnish doom metallers SWALLOW THE SUN have issued the following update: "This year, 2011, we are going to keep things a bit more quiet and start preparing for the next SWALLOW THE SUN album, which will be released at the end of this year or in the beginning of 2012... Yeah, if the world doesn't end! Ten new songs are already in the works, but we are not going to rush with recording, album release or new tours because our bodies, hair and especially livers just can't handle it yet, folks!! We might do a few selected shows and festivals this year if it fits in with our plans, but otherwise this year is going to be a dark road of solitude towards new depths of gloom, beauty and despair — the sixth chapter of SWALLOW THE SUN.
