Have you spoken with Mamelli recently? I know that this may be touchy subject for you. Well... it’s not much for me to say about that. Someone played me the songs that were re-recorded old songs beacuse I was just at the party with someone and he puts it on, I go „what’s this?“ and he goes „oh, that’s your ex-band“ and I went „well, why the Hell they recorded „Out of the body“ and „Chemotherapy“ again? That’s bullshit.“ I mean, they are classic, you should just keep them the way they are. So I think it’s just the stupid thing from the band to cover themselves, I would never do such thing. I mean, the song „The rack“ – it’s there like it is. What would be if Black Sabbath do „War pigs“ or something again? You can never get that feeling like you had in those days. When I played with Pestilence on the festival, they tried to avoid me, meeting me... you know, like if they’re scared or something, I don’t know. I’ve heard from other people that their live performance is not really long so... People said also that when we played with them on With Full Force festival we completely blew them off the stage! Asphyx is like a machine, headbanging and everybody’s going berzerk and I’ve heard that Pestilence is pretty much static on stage, there’s not much going on so... From what I’ve heard from other people, I don’t think their union is quite a success.

Ipak mi Drunen nekako ima više integriteta, ali i Dobrokes je prava UG ikona.

Koliko JEBE MAJKU ovaj live jbt... nemam reči. Sad prekucavam Martinov intervju, napljuvao re-recordovanje fala kurcu da je neko sa malo uma i integriteta ostao na sceni.

I need to ask you quick question about your other band Hail of bullets, what can we expect from the new album? Well, basically what we think what was really difficult is to beat the success of „Of frost and war“. It basically was seen like a bomb and we knew we had a good product so it wasn’t easy to try and improve that but... for us the most important thing is that I think we have succeeded it. What you can expect is that the songs are more compact and even more recognisable than we had on the first, and next to that we have, without loosing the heaviness, some more melodic and harmonic guitar parts on it, too. I think that leads are also a lot better. I think we just grew as a band and it’s more mature than the first one. And there’s another subject; it’s a concept album too but this one deals with Pacific war, Japan against United States... that’s what it’s all about. Au leba ti jebem, ovo zvuči kao matori Morbid angel! Evo i ovde ako neko nije video novi Asphyx live. Eto i ovo iscurelo, isto mi se dosta dojmi. Nema, pravi Death Metal se vraća na velika vrata, Black je isprdeo svoje za sada.

Malo ovaj album ima starih fora malo novih / modernih, ali kad se sve zbroji dobije se jedna bezidejnost i dosada :/ niste valjda očekivali Heathenreel?

Grutle on “Raidho”: “A signature Ivar-song. Full of cool riffs, both straight forward and a little bit weird, too! A bit complex, still a very enjoyable song to arrange vocals on. This was the first song me and Herbrand [Larsen, keyboard player and clean vocalist] did the vocal arrangements for on Axioma Ethica Odini and one of the first we recorded (I remember ‘Giants’ being the very first). This song turned out to be one of the most brutal songs on the album, and probably the one containing the most harsh vocals. Love this one, and am really looking forward to playing it live.” Ivar on “Raidho”: “’Raidho’ is a song where the song title and the song itself are very closely linked. The title itself is the name of a rune that translated to travel, vehicle and so on. My ambition was to make a song that would convey the feeling of travel; try to depict a ‘moving wheel’ through riffing. It turned out that quite a lot of ENSLAVED’s music had this feeling. If that is a coincidence or not sounds too much like quack-speculation, but I do come from a family of travelers, sailors, and even whalers (‘ey, don’t go Greenpeace on me now!). Perhaps this ‘nomadic’ feeling is our connection to Motörhead… one of Metal’s hardest touring bands? Anyways, when I separated the rhythmic guitar voice (there’s one ‘straight-ahead-guitar’ with the chords, and one ‘drone’ with a rhythmic pattern) and had the drums follow that, I discovered we had what I would almost call a Motörhead-part – which turned out to be the middle-section. I am not a fan of ‘explaining’ lyrics as it limits the reader’s potential for exploration and self-reflection.
