"The song material for the upcoming CD is more or less complete; we are just working on the last details at the moment. It seems we will start the recordings by the end of July. The upcoming full-length album will consist of nine brand new SIRENIA songs — no cover songs or remix material this time."

Finnish melodic death metallers NOUMENA have entered Savonlinna's Sundi Coop studio to begin recording their third full-length album, tentatively due October-November 2006 via Spikefarm Records. 11 songs are being tracked for the CD, which should be completed by the end of June. According to a posting on the band's web site, the "new material is more diverse and has more twists and turns, but NOUMENA trademark elements are definitely present."

Progress on the new album continues. It will be titled "Lust Before The Maggots Conquest." The drums and rhythm guitars are completely recorded, just some final tracking and mixing to go. Expect a new song to be posted online by late summer, and the cd should be out by early fall. More info coming soon.

NAPALM DEATH's New CD Is 'Surpassing Last Album For Heaviness, Speed And Diversity' Bassist Shane Embury of the British extreme metal pioneers NAPALM DEATH has posted the following message on the band's official web site: "Still here at Foel studios in Wales [recording the new NAPALM DEATH album] and all's going extremely well. The songs are starting to take their shape and already it's surpassing the last album for heaviness, speed and diversity. "Got the final cover art through today as well from our trusted artist Mick Kenney of ANAAL NATHRAKH/MISTRESS fame and it's looking good. This time we have opted for a more old-school album cover and have decided for a change in how you see the band's logo. So it comes across more like one of our shirts, I guess, but it stands out more, I think, than the last couple of covers we have done. The lyrics in the booklet have all been painstakingly written out by Barney [vocalist Mark 'Barney' Greenway] and that gives the booklet a nice feel also." NAPALM DEATH's new album, tentatively tititled "Smear Campaign", is scheduled for release later in the year via Century Media Records. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Rabid Wolves (For Christ)", "In Deference", "Atheist Runt", "When All Is Said and Done", and "Sink Fast, Let Go", and "Morale". A guest appearance by THE GATHERING frontwoman Anneke van Giersbergen is also included.

A statement from AGALLOCH reads: Agalloch finally have an official website: http://www.agalloch.org We extend our gratitude to Donald Bellenger for his excellent work. The band has also filmed a video for the song "Not Unlike The Waves" with director Nicole Phillips and cinematographers Richard Stark and Juan Mosqueda. It is currently in the editing process. Over nine hours of footage was shot in three days and the results are quite stunning thus far. To film aficionados, the style of the video will call to mind the work of Ingmar Bergman, Mario Bava, and the German Expressionist movement.

Sto se tice trenutno najboljeg Technical Brutal Death Metal benda, mogu samo ovo reci: Necrophagist > SoP Sto se tice novog albuma, jos se ne zna kad izlazi, pa ga nema na netu. Trebao je da izadje u maju, ali nista od toga.

SUFFOCATION Begin Recording New Album Legendary death metallers SUFFOCATION have begun tracking their new album. The self-titled CD is being recorded at Full Force Studios in Long Island, NY for a September 2006 release via Relapse Records. Additionally, SUFFOCATION have enlisted tattoo artist JonZig from Skingraver Tattoo Studio in Austin, TX to create the album's artwork.

It's Official: SLAYER To Release 'Christ Illusion' In August SLAYER have set "Christ Illusion" as the title of their new album, due on August 8, 2006 via American Recordings/Warner Bros. Records (NOTE: The release date change was first reported by BLABBERMOUTH.NET yesterday). "Christ Illusion" is SLAYER's first new studio album since 2001, and the first recorded by the band's original line-up — Kerry King (guitars); Tom Araya (bass, vocals); Jeff Hanneman (guitars); Dave Lombardo (drums) — since 1990's "Seasons In The Abyss". "Christ Illusion" was produced by Josh Abraham and executive produced by Rick Rubin. "Christ Illusion" deals with familiar SLAYER themes — god, religion, hate, and war.
