  7. According to fan postings on the BLACKMORE'S NIGHT U.K. Fanclub forum, the band — which features former DEEP PURPLE/RAINBOW guitarist Ritchie Blackmore and his fiancée Candice Night — played an abbreviated set Thursday night (June 14) at the Reading Hexagon in Reading, England, leaving many of the fans disappointed. "They came on late and did a rather lukewarm set and then cut the set in half!" a forum member who goes by the name "Classicpurple" wrote. "Candice was obviously trying to put some enthusiasm into the show but there was none from anyone else! Blackmore no doubt did another one of his stroppy tantrums and refused to go on! None of the security people knew what was going on other than they were supposed to play 'till 11.00 [after taking the stage at 8.55]. If this is the case, Blackmore needs to grow up a bit — he must be 62 by now! It's 2007, not 1976, and people need to be a bit more professional than that! I'm a huge Blackmore fan by the way! See www.classicpurple.com. Totally unprofessional way to treat an audience who have paid a lot of money and travelled a long way to be there! I would certainly not advise anyone to buy tickets for a show — not at £22.50 each and I would certainly not buy any again. Very disappointing — not interested anymore!" Another forum member, who goes by the name "typo_queen", added, "Of course I was highly annoyed by the abruptness of the ending. Not only was it a short show, but there was no forewarning of this, they didn't announce their last song, but all of a sudden were like 'see you next time' and walked off the stage. The lack of formal ending seemed like most band's usual approach to an encore, and as was evident from the audience it was very much expected. My friend had heard the setlist for some of the other gigs and was expecting to hear certain other songs which they did not play. Had they played another song or two I would have been fairly content with the evening, but brought a rather abrupt and negative end to an otherwise very pleasant evening." e richi seljak..cuti, ovo moglo i kod nas da se desi..

Long-running German thrashers SODOM are in the process of re-recording the material from their classic first EP, "In the Sign of Evil", for a brand new release, tentatively due late summer via SPV Records. The new CD, which will be called "The Final Sign of Evil", will include no less than seven bonus tracks, all of which were originally written during the "In the Sign of Evil" era or earlier but were never officially released. As a special bonus, the album will feature return appearances by the group's original drummer Chris Dudek (a.k.a. Witchhunter) and guitarist Josef "Peppi" Dominic (a.k.a. Grave Violator), both of whom were featured on the original 1984 EP. "The Final Sign of Evil" is being produced by SODOM's webmaster Toto, who stated about the upcoming CD, "The official name is 'The Final Sign of Evil', and follows the plan to make the 'In the Sign of Evil' a complete album. So the seven additional tracks are not a real bonus, because they fulfill an album, like it should [have done] back in 1984." Regarding how he got involved on the production side, Toto said, "Peppi heard a demo I produced with a side project which was founded by me back in 2003. A friend of mine (Frank Hübner, he's with me in the project and his neighbour) gave it to him. And after all they decided not to work with Harris [Johns] or Andy [sneap], they decided to run a little test with me. So in spring 2006 we started a two and a half week pre-production. They were happy with the sound and after four weeks I got the call: You're the one. Of course, that was a dream! In the following month I started to watch nearly every rehearsal, learned the songs and rehearsed with Chris, when Peppi was on holiday. A real big thing for an old mid-Eighties SODOM fan! But believe me: It's real hard work!" On the subject of how the re-recordings are turning out, Toto said, "Some of the old songs will sound a little bit different, because Chris decided to change some of the drum parts. But don't mind it, because the classic one will stay as a classic, no matter what we're doing. Some will love it, other may hate it, that's the normal way life goes. "Peppi and me are working on the guitars and it's a hard job for him. The last time he has been in a studio was for the recordings in 1984 for the 'Sign of Evil'. For Chris it was similar. Chris made his last recordings in 1994 for a project called WITCHHUNTER which never been released. But both [have] done their very best. It's obviously that both had a hard [time] during the recordings." ovo zvuci kao da ce bit neki totalni raspad al..videcemo...ne svidja mi se ideja anyway

  17. German power metallers GAMMA RAY have been officially confirmed for the upcoming HELLOWEEN European tour. The trek will kick off mid-November and will include one or two additional acts. Apart from very few festival appearances, this will be the first time ever HELLOWEEN and GAMMA RAY have toured together. In addition, it is extremely likely that Kai Hansen — GAMMA RAY leader and ex-HELLOWEEN member — will join his former bandmates for a jam on classic HELLOWEEN numbers. Commented HELLOWEEN guitarist Michael Weikath: "This is going to be a historical event for all HELLOWEEN fans. We are looking forward to have Kai and his band on our tour with us." Plans also exist to take this powerful package to the territories of Southeast Asia, as well as North and South America. OFICIJALNO JE OFICIJALNO! Budapest, eve me! ps. Death to tool.
  18. The reunited CYNIC, whose 1993 album "Focus" is regarded as a landmark release in the field of technical/progressive metal, has lined up the following dates over the coming weeks: Jun. 23 - Hellfest - Clisson Nantes, France Jun. 24 - Graspop Metal Meeting - Dessel, Belgium Jun. 25 - Dingwalls - London, England Jun. 27 - Doornroosje - Nijmegen, Holland Jun. 28 - 013 - Tilburg, Holland Jun. 29 - Hovefestivalen - Arendal, Norway Jul. 04 - Nachtleben - Frankfurt, Germany Jul. 05 - Le Nouveau Casino - Paris, France Jul. 06 - Bad Bonn - Düdingen, Switzerland Jul. 07 - Evolution Fest - Florence, Italy Jul. 09 - AN Live Club - Athens, Greece In other news, CYNIC's Paul Masvidal (guitar, vocals) has released the following update to BLABBERMOUTH.NET regarding the band's current touring lineup: "'Financially it wasn't feasible for Tony [Teegarden; vocals, keyboards] [to join us on the road] and therefore we couldn't bring him along, so we've made the best out of the situation and it's worked out well. We're using a 'Virtual Tony' computer streaming and it sounds really cool. We wanted it to sound as close to the album as possible. "One of the concerns was giving Tony something to do when he wasn't singing brutals [brutal vocals] (which would have been 60-70% of the set) and now we can just be a four-piece with brutals coming from the ethers. It's pretty mysterious and interesting, and takes us further into experimental fusion metal band. With guitar synths, Mavis [recently added guitarist David 'Mavis' Senescu] and I can cover all the keyboard stuff and really tighten things up. We could have tried doing brutals ourselves but it wouldn't have done 'Focus' justice. If one of us could growl like that, we would have. It takes a unique kind of a vocal cord! We're all about re-creating the 'Focus' experience and now it's more accurate than ever. Mavis does an excellent quiet John Tardy." Haha, ladno ce growlove preko kompa da pustaju...sad mi je iskreno nesto vise lakse sto ovo nec videti live...stvarno mi zvuci glupo... ali bre..pogledaj ti tu prelepu rupu u datumima

  23. Commented BLIND GUARDIAN frontman Hansi Kürsch: "As you all most probably recognized we have kept silent for quite a while, again. The reason is fairly simple: we have been on the road for most of the time to accomplish an enourmous amount of sightseeing in between the playing. We will give you some longer statement about what has been / is going on the next days. This basically is more to inform you about our 20 years BLIND GUARDIAN anniversary and the related release of the remasters series on Friday, June 15. "This remasters series include all our albums up to 'Nightfall in Middle-Earth'. Due to better sounding this is a very valuable option for those who do not have all albums already or those who do no have any, since this series contain additional material and better booklet designs (including liner notes and some more photos — if it were spacewise possible) than the original ones. Audio-/video-wise we also have added a good amount of material, such as demos, most of the band's clips and b-tracks from single releases, etc.. We have also taken the opportunity to remix the first two albums, so that 'Battalions of Fear' and 'Follow the Blind' appear in a more modern shape. Do not worry, the original intention has not been damaged by that. We would have prefered remixing 'Tales from the Twilight World' as well, but unfortunately this whole project has been done on very tight time schedule, which made it impossible for us to do so. We nevertheless have really enjoyed doing that time travel for quite a few months and it has brought back great memories. The release date is scheduled for all Europe. The rest of the world is going to follow within the next weeks."
