Veteran rocker Slash gave away his beloved snakes to save his baby from being eaten.

The former Guns N' Roses guitarist - real name Saul Hudson - was repeatedly bitten on the face by his pet python and almost lost his cat to his anaconda, so reluctantly donated his dangerous pets to the zoo before the birth of his first child London.

Slash explains, "I got bitten on the face pretty good by a python. My old buddy Clyde, my anaconda that I had for years, had his moments when he'd get real moody and didn't want to be f***ed with so he gave me a couple of jabs.

"Does it hurt? Yeah! I got rid of all my snakes when we had the baby. There came a point when it was Murphy's Law, like I almost lost a cat to a snake once."
