Vidi se da uticaj Opetha i dalje jako drzi Stivija.. jedino sto mi je u celoj prici zao je sto bi ovo bila vrhunska PT stvar, svaka njegova sjajna ideja van PT-a samo steti kvalitetu njihovog sledeceg albuma. Elessar Posted October 15, 2008 Report post Posted October 15, 2008 (edited) Jedva cekam da Insurgentes izadje. Prethodnih godinu i nesto non-stop slusam PT. Treba mi svezi fix. Mozda je koincidencija da je album koji je Wilson producirao Opeth-u ujedno i jedan od najkreativnijih, ali svakako je istina da uticaji postoje izmedju ovih muzicara. Na albumima Opeth-a se cuju Wilsonove klavirske deonice, flanger-ovane, sablasne klavijature, (clean) vokalne deonice i "podvodni" overdrive sa nenormalnim sustain-om, a kod PT-a hipnoticki pasazi bubnjeva sa duplom pedalom praceni jadikujucom gitarom u pozadini itd. I Anesthetize mogu da slusam vecno, nikada mi ne bi dosadila. Kakva pesma. PT je, inace, na mini evropskoj turneji trenutno i sinoc su svirali u Tilburgu koncert koji je sniman za novi DVD. Veceras sledi jos jedan koncert na istom mestu koji ce takodje biti sniman, te ce verovatno doci do prekombinovanja setliste pri konacnom odabiru pesama koje ce zavrsiti na DVD-u. Setlista od sinoc: Fear of a Blank Planet My Ashes Anesthetize Sentimental Way out of Here Sleep Together -short break- Normal Stars Die Open Car What Happens Now Wedding Nails Dark Matter Half Light Sever Blackest Eyes Sleep of No Dreaming Halo Licno, nemam niti jednu zamerku osim sto su mogli da odbace Open Car, obzirom da je i overplayed i prisutna na Arriving Somewhere DVD-u...ali, naravno to jos ne mora da znaci da ce se naci i na novom. Uz to, na svirkama pre ove su svirali Strip the Soul/.3 combo, ocekujem da ce to biti na meniju i veceras. Otkrio je dosta novog: novi PT album najverovatnije u septembru 2009. (deo materijala je vec napisan), producirace novi album Katatonie (fuck yeah!!!), omiljenih pet albuma svih vremena (za fanboye, dakle mene Miles Davis - Bitches Brew, Tangerine Dream - Zeit, Pink Floyd - Animals, Nick Drake - Box Set i Meshuggah - Destroy Erase Improve), opservacije na racun uskogrudih pacera koji ne slusaju nista osim jednog muzickog zanra ("uskogrudi paceri" by me) i dr. Ocu da kazem teshko da neka grupa koja se probila 2001-e , moze coveku koji je tada imao 33 godine da udje u all-time favorite jendostavno nije rastao na tome nit su ti albumi izvrshili veliki bum u njeogovm zivotu. A i to shto je on producirao Blackwater Park(koji je pritom njihov najbolji album) , Damnation i Deliverance , pa da mu albumi koji je on producirao budu medju najboljima albumima ipak to nekako nije to to. Mislim ak ose pojavi neki mnogo dobar album za 4 godine, ce teb iuci u top 5 najomiljenijih albuma ikad? Teshko.... Nego cudi me znam da je dosta ranije prichao kak omu je Radiohead - the Bends najomiljeniji album ikad. Inache koji su vama omiljene pesme PT-a? Meni su najomiljenije Russia on Ice , A smart Kid, Nostlagia Factory, Nine cats, Radioactive Toy, hymne, the Sound of Muzak, Every home is Weird, shesmovedon . Et in Arcadia Ego Posted October 29, 2008 Report post Posted October 29, 2008 Cinjenica je da, pre nego sto mu je izvesni francuski novinar podmetnuo Still Life pod nos, Wilson nije smatrao da sam metal zanr ima da ponudi ista jer nije bio adekvatno upucen u ekstremne podpravce za koje je kasnije izjavio da je jedan od kreativnijih muzickih izraza danasnjice, a svakako nije zeleo da inspiraciju crpi iz Manowara i klonova im. Stoga je vrlo verovatno da je Meshuggu, ciji album mu, eto, zavrsi u top 5 svih vremena (za taj dan, verovatno), slusao cak i nakon Opetha, jer mu je Opeth bio polazna stanica za ekstremni metal. Dakle, dovoljno vremena da mu DEI udje u naj sviju vremena. Uostalom, smatram da upravo cinjenica da SW evoluira muzicki sa godinama umogucuje da ga apropo uticaja ne ogranicava "ukus kakav je imao kao klinac". Sto se tice naj pesama, to je vec kvantna fizika, ali ako bas moram: The Sky Moves Sideways part 1, Gravity Eyelids, Sleep of No Dreaming, .3, Stars Die, Arriving Somewhere But Not Here, Hatesong, Even Less, Start of Something Beautiful, Sleep Together, Fadeaway, Drown With Me, Buying New Soul, Anesthetize i Dark Matter bi sacinjavale mojih top 15. VErujem da on kaze za opethove albume fantastic , ali da ga nisu toklo pogodile jednostavno je posle toga pocheo da dalej istrazuje i vidici su mu se znatno proshirili,a realno ono cudo sto je DEI kad prvi put to chujesh ostanesh stoniran od chuda. Evo sto je rekao jendom "From this starting point, his interest in music progressed on a cyclic path. When he discovered seventies music and progressive rock, his interest in metal diminished in favour of experimental music. He later (in the 2000s) discovered bands like Gojira, Mastodon, Neurosis and Meshuggah, which restored his faith in metal music. "For a long time I couldn't find where all these creative musicians were going…", Wilson said, "and I found them, they were working in extreme Metal"." Ralno fali mu josh i Isis i to je to( a i secam se da je i nedavno pominjao Dillinger Escape Plan). Da i 3. mi je isto u heatrtouching, nego meni taj Let's sleep together nikako neulazi u glavu, nekako mi se bash nesvidja, to je jedina pesam sa FOABP koja mi nije fenomenalna. Isto tak omislim da je DEI imao isti uticaj na njega ko sto je From Mars to Sirius imao uticaj na mene, kada sma ga prvi put cuo. Ono skroz me je zainteresovao taj ceo thinking man metal pokret . Sleep Together me toliko dojmi prosto svojom strukturom drugog dela pesme, i onog kresenda i razgradnje ka finalu koje je zaista fantasticno. Gudacki intrumenti imaju neki zlokoban, mracan zvuk koji me odusevljava. Uz to, elektronika je vrlo pametno upotrebljena. Nego, nesto o novom albumu, iz novog intervjua: Well, for the next album I've only written this long piece of music of about 35 minutes... It's not so metal oriented as the latest albums, it's got a more classic sound, but there's still a lot to write, so I cannot tell you precisely how it will sound. Right now I think it will be a bit more melodic, more classic and less metal. The fact is that in “In Absentia”, “Deadwing” and “Fear Of A Blank Planet”, the lyrics were about very dark themes, which made me write a more aggressive material. The new material I'm working on is more personal, so I think it'll be more melodic... Although, as I told you before, this might change any time. Wilson will drop his first solo album, entitled Insurgentes, on February 10th. Being released through K-Scope, the album will be comprised of 10 new tracks that range from ballads and anthems to all-out industrial noise assaults. The songs on the disc represent two years worth of work, including copious amounts of recording sessions in Mexico City, Japan, Israel, and elsewhere. For the project Wilson recruited a diverse cast of guests including bassist Tony Levin, drummer Gavin Harrison, and keyboardist Jordan Rudess, alongside Japanese Koto player Michiyo Yagi, British guitarist Sand Snowman, and jazz flautist and saxophonist Theo Travis. Continuing Wilson's track record of unique packaging and ultra high-quality recordings, a limited run of copies of Insurgentes was already released this year in two $100 deluxe versions that included a 3000-copy run of 2 CDs (the album plus a bonus disc) and a DVD-A containing the 5.1 surround mix of the album, as well as a 1000-copy run on 4 x 10-inch vinyl discs.
