Ne vidim razloga, sa ideoloske strane oni itekako jos uvek imaju veze sa viking metalom, i dan-danas im je na koncertima bina prekrivena runama i Odinovim glavama. Ako bi gledao sa cisto muzicke strane bilo bi nemoguce definisati ga posto je opseg bendova koji sebe nazivaju viking metalcima u zvucnom smislu preveliki. It is the famous magical wood where each path leads the weary wanderer to the same goal, just as "Vertebrae” does... You can listen to it in different ways – focus on the obvious 70ies influences, or bang your head to their Norwegian style Black Metal like in "New Dawn”, or just let yourself drift in the melodic and more psychedelic parts of it... and still, it stays ENSLAVED. There are indeed few bands who manage to do such a mix while still being recognizable as the band they were over a decade ago. I agree this may be hard to approach at first, but just as the sign above I believe ENSLAVED succeeded in leading the listener through their many facets to see a harmonious unity at last. Bergen Metal Fest X) — which is scheduled to take place August 25-29 in Bergen, Norway — have issued the following update: "Hole In The Sky X is closing in fast. We give you the lowdown of the spectacular anniversary concert that is set to close the Friday night proceedings. Hosted by the mighty ENSLAVED. "Formed in the heydays of the Norwegian extreme metal scene, ENSLAVED has been a constant and pioneering force for 18 years. "Their history can be divided into three phases: 1. The early years 1991-1996: closest to the black metal scene, from the EP 'Hordanes Land' to the second album 'Frost'. 2. Middle years 1997-2002: experimental and extremely varied, from third LP 'Eld' to 'Monumension'. 3. Present ENSLAVED 2003-present: a synthesis of the roots and the new elements; ENSLAVED has created a sound and a scene of its own, from 'Below the Lights' to 'Vertebrae'. "The 'A Blaze in the Northern Sky' show will reflect these periods and will have the following setup: * Part one: Present ENSLAVED - The band will be presenting a cross section of songs from 'Below The Lights', 'Isa', 'Ruun' and 'Vertebrae'. * Part two: 'Hordanes Land' - For the first time in history, the legendary 'Hordanes Land' EP (also released as a split CD with EMPEROR) will be performed in its entirety — with EMPEROR members Samoth (guitar) and Trym (drums), who also played drums for ENSLAVED in this period, as guest musicians. * Part three: Roots - This final part will feature ENSLAVED performing songs from the formative period, in other words, their influences in the early '90s — featuring the frontmen from the original bands as guest vocalists: L.G. from ENTOMBED, Attila from MAYHEM, and the man himself, Nocturno Culto from DARKTHRONE. Doom Posted June 25, 2009 Report post Posted June 25, 2009 Dakle, opet Vertebrae. Nisam ovo slusao 7-8 meseci, nabavim original, pustim da se vrti, i nisam mogao da verujem koliko je to dobro. Nisam ni primetio da se disk izvrteo 3-4 puta. Sa ove vremenske distance, mogu slobodno da kazem da je u pitanju svojevrsni masterpiece. Ovaj sound dise i tece i nigde se ne nazire ni crtica od ravne linije da smori. By the way, "Center" me u momentima malo podsetio na Tool (Lateralus), dok "Ground" pokazuje kako bi Floyd-i zvucali da su kojim slucajem svirali metal Ovo je mozda tesko zanrovski svrstati, medjutim koga briga za to? Kriticari su placeni da se time bave... Ovako zvuci bend koji definitivno ima sta da kaze i zna kako to da uradi. Pitam se kakvo ce im biti sledece izdanje? Имали смо разне Имортале, Дарктроне, Емпероре али ОВАЈ БЕНД свира и даље! И то не да свира него јебе кеве! Били су ту кад је све почело, били за време свог тог блек метал хајпа и ево их и даље ту - монумент норвешког и светског метала A ovo potpisujem.
