A što se zaslađivanja tiče, Earl Grey ne treba da se sladi uopšte, ali je mleko ok, ali english breakfast može da se sladi, a za irish breakfast se čak preporučuje zaslađivanje. Lično, od šećera u čaju iskreno zazirem, ali volim da ponekad (no, retko) stavim voće iz slatkog ili malo meda u neku varijaciju crnog čaja. I da, zeleni i mleko - nikako.
