Actually, when COC kinda fell apart, right before we finished ‘Deliverance’… see, I don’t know if you guys know this, but ‘Deliverance’ originally had Karl Agell singing and Phil Swisher on bass. The vocals didn’t work out, we kicked Karl out, the bass player quit, Woody [Weatherman, guitars] quit. It was just me and Pepper for a while, we were like ‘damn, we love the music, we need to finish this shit!’ So we decided Pepper was going to sing, but we needed a bass player so we tried Dixie [Dave Collins, Weedeater bassist/vocalist] out! He was almost the bass player for COC, and if Mike Dean hadn’t said yes, he’d still be the bass player now.”
