MC Hammer će ove godine na američkoj kablovskoj mreži A&E imati reality show Hammertime. Osim nekadašnje zvezde rapa, u 11 polučasovnih epizoda će se pojaviti njegova supruga i petoro dece. Izvršni producent J.D. Roth kaže da je serija pravljena po uzoru na The Cosby Show. "Imate oca petoro dece koji je oženjen istom ženom više od 23 godine, živi u kraju u kom je odrastao, a nedeljom ide u crkvu", kaže Roth za Hollywood Reporter, i poručuje da je Hammer, sa svim svojim usponima i padovima, vrsta čoveka koju ljudi danas žele da gledaju. MC Hammer je pre 20-ak godina bio jedan od komercijalno najuspešnijih muzičara, ali je ubrzo proćerdao bogatstvo. Autori serije kažu da je njihova namera da dokažu da je on sada novi čovek s ekonomski uravnoteženijim životom.

Dick's books (for both their lyrics and music) this band creates a bizarre kind of Hardcore/Grindcore with pummeling patterns and a lot of experimental and Doomish overtones. The music is intensity as its sickening best; the record itself wraps the listener with a violent atmosphere with enough variations to keep you interested to the very end. What I love the most about this sci-fi band is their ability to produce balance in their music; there are songs so brutal and fast that put any straight Grinder to shame (f.e. "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?" and "The Man In The High Castle") there are also melodic songs showing their songwriting capabilities featuring complex structures, intricate scales and intense yet catchy breakdowns (f.e. "Valis" and "Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said" ) and finally you will also find the surprising element in the end, a droning Doom metal track with ambient approaches ala Kayno Yesno Slonce , October Falls and such artists. I didn't know what to expect about this CD; first of all Gilead Media had to send it twice as the first copy arrived broken; then the name A Scanner Darkly kept reminding me of that novel which, in my opinion, was a failed attempt to write a book influenced by Anthony Burgess's "A Clockwork Orange" with a Sci-Fi element and omitting the obsessed and great dystopian factors surrounding it. Fortunately I had the chance to fully hear and understand this album and let me tell you, it is actually one of the most powerful EP's I've heard this year. Fans of the genre will be pleased about A Scanner Darkly; this EP is still a little rough though, but I'm sure their music will improve with time as right now it's quite impressive what these guys have accomplished already; I can't wait to hear a Full-Length with polished music and better arrangements. For now, this CD is great for a start; it's dark, vicious, experimental and really fucking intense. Side-Note: the surrealistic layout is really impressive.

Portishead se obratio fanovima s molbom da savetuju bend kako da ubuduće prodaje svoju muziku, pošto im se ugovor sa Islandom bliži kraju. Geoff Barrow je na MySpaceu grupe napisao da je zasad jedino sigurno da sledeći album Portisheada neće biti dostupan za besplatan download. "Iskreno, mislim da nismo u fazonu da dajemo muziku za džabe", piše Barrow. "Jebiga, potrebna je večnost da bi se pisala muzika, a mi moramo nekako da grejemo bazene!"

Uzivaj, nisam siguran za pesmu kada je izasla ali moguce je da je iz 2007, spot bi trebao da bude od prosle godine. Posto nisam bas primetio da kod nas na Balkanu ima zenskih mc-a (sem pokojnih Bicharki na travi) ova je mozda i najbolja, predivna produkcija, sljusljive matre, vokal koji je na nivou, tekstovi cak i nisu toliko chick orijented, pa moze svako da je slusa. Samo sto ne mogu da preslusam ceo album iz cuga, posle 7 pesme vec se malo umorim od slusanja. Spot je na nekom teskom Tim Burton, Brother Quay tripu. Dobar je u svakom slucaju. Da li je cura nekada nastupala kod nas?

Nine Inch Nails će ove godine održati turneju sa još jednom obnovljenom grupom Jane's Addiction. Trent Reznor je na svom zvaničnom sajtu najavio da će, nakon ove turneje, NIN nestati na neko vreme, a da će koncerti koji predstoje biti znatno siroviji od onoga na šta je publika u poslednje vreme navikla od njegovog benda. Raspored koncerata još uvek nije objavljen, ali Reznor kaže da će bendovi obići svet. Nine Inch Nails su svirali na prvoj Lollapalooza turneji 1991, od kada datira inspiracija za zajedničke koncerte. Nedugo nakon tog izdanja putujućeg festivala, Jane's Addiction su se razišli po prvi put. Nadam se da ce doci u Budimpestu...

Black Freighter ce izaci zasebno na sopstvenom dvd, verovatno ce kasnije izbaciti directors cut, sa izbacenim scenama i spojeno sa black freighter-om da bi film bio kompletniji. Uskoro uskoro.
