Basically, this albums starts off on the edge of out of control and precariously balances there for the 36-minute duration with a crusty, Swede metal guitar sound contorting crazed and disharmonic riffs and knocking boots with clanging, epileptic battery backed up by some of the sickest vocals basement shows and punk rock squat houses have ever heard. The first two tracks (“God & Gold” and “V is for Vulture”) are as explosive off the starting line as a NHRA drag race and as dangerous as a chain smoker in the pit area. Next, the title track possesses all the violent fervor, but with fleeting nods to Southern rock added and modified to kill everything within earshot. I could go on, but suffice to say this combustible motherfucker of a record doesn’t really ease up on your throat, ‘nads and eye sockets until more than halfway through with the eerie sounding “High Winds & Heavy Seas” which takes a familiar sounding chord progression and runs it through a Buzz Osborne-modified amplifier while vocalist Ezra Morris screams like a tortured banshee. Then it’s back to the musical barbed wire and the sonic battering that will become synonymous with this record before you make it to the end. Assuming you make it that far." Iggy Pop je najavio mogućnost okupljanja Stoogesa, sa gitaristom Jamesom Williamsonom koji je svirao na albumu Raw Power (1973). "Sreo sam se prošle nedelje sa Jamesom. To je bio prvi put da smo se videli nakon 30 godina. Pričali smo o tome da nešto uradimo zajedno. Raw Power bi mogao da bude repertoar", rekao je Iggy magazinu The Australian. Originalni gitarista Stoogesa Ron Asheton umro je od srčanog udara u januaru ove godine, a Iggy je izjavio kako "uvek postoje Iggy and the Stooges, druga inkarnacija benda". Ron (čiji brat Scott svira bubnjeve u Stoogesema) je na albumu Raw Power svirao bas, i bio je u reoformljenom sastavu koji je 2003. godine snimio povratnički The Weirdness, kao i na turnejama koje su usledile. Iggy je izjavio da je Ron pre smrti napisao šest ili sedam neobjavljenih pesama sa žestokim ritmom, koje će biti iskorišćene na narednom izdanju. Fanovi Nine Inch Nailsa sakupili su preko 260.000$ u roku od dva dana kako bi omogućili presađivanje srca Ericu De La Cruzu (27), koji nema zdravstveno osiguranje. Lider NIN-a trent Reznor saznao je za Ericov slučaj preko jedne televizijske emisije, nakon čega je bend na zvaničnom sajtu otvorio posebnu stranicu na kojoj fanovi mogu da uplate donaciju. De La Cruzova porodica se takođe bori da prikupi neophodnih 780.000 dolara, koliko košta operacija. Mislim da mu se ni Stooges nece dopasti... Novi album je veoma dobar, jazzy zvuk, i dopadljivo mi je to sto se odlucio da napravi koncept album.
