Opeth

6. (11:26) The Epic-Jazz fusion melds into gentle renaissance melodies. Just as the song hits its most quiet and beautiful moment complemented by spare piano, a pulsing keyboard ushers in the ferocity and grandeur that only Opeth can muster. Then, about halfway in, the f**ker gets real heavy...replete with the usual Opeth-ian twists and turns.

Osećam da će ga ovde razvaliti. :rockdevil:

Although a decent amount of tickets has been sold there are still plenty left available. Get yours NOW! You simply cannot afford to miss an opportunity like this. A once in a lifetime happening with unique performances from a wide range of bands such as Opeth, Katatonia, Comus (first gig since 1972!!), Leafhound, Mats & Morgan all star team, Bo Hansson, Anekdoten, Trettioåriga kriget and many more.

Mikael Åkerfeldt: "OK guys, if you're only going to one gig this year, this one has to be it! You need to realize how insane it's going to be, so I decided to comment on some of the great bands that will appear here. To me, this line-up beats ALL of the Summer festivals coming up. Those are always the same, this one is 100% unique!

COMUS:

Well, what can I say? Their "First utterance" album from 1971 perplexed me to no end. I had a hard time getting into/understanding it. But it finally clicked and now it's become a companion for life. Roger's lyrics really inspired me, so much that I named our 3rd album "My arms your hearse" after a line off their song "Drip drip". They're simply one of my favourite bands of all time! Musically it's psychedelic folk that breathes a darkness like nothing I've heard from the era of folk rock, or since. This gig will be their first since 1972 so that alone is reason enough why you cannot miss this concert. Who knows, maybe this is the only chance you'll ever get to see them? I simply can't wait for this!

LEAFHOUND:

Their "Growers of mushroom" record from 1971 is one of the most sought after heavy rock albums ever. And it's a slab of great groovy heavy rock they way it's supposed to be delivered. I've loved it ever since I first heard it. Pete French is a perfect gentleman and a fucking awesome rock vocalist. He was in Cactus (with Carmine Appice and Tim Bogert from Vanilla Fudge), and later also in Atomic Rooster among others. I reckon their gig will have me swinging beers while head banging (if that is possible).

KATATONIA:

My very good friends and also band-mates in BLOODBATH. They basically don't need an introduction. Swedish Katatonia gigs are pretty rare. I haven't seen them for years and I can't wait. Maybe they'll play some "Brave murder day" stuff….?

MATS/MORGAN ALL STAR BAND (w/ Fredrik Thordendal & Gustaf Hielm/MESHUGGAH, Ia Eklundh/FREAK KITCHEN + Lar Hollmer/SAMLA MAMMAS MANNA:

Well, this one I'm sure it's going to be a fucking massive treat. These guys puts pretty much most musicians to shame. Mats & Morgan played with FRANK ZAPPA in the late 80´s and has a long line of musical adventures together. They're pretty amazing to say the least. Ia Eklundh has taken the guitar acrobatics of Steve Vai to the next label and is probably one of the world's most accomplished electric/metal guitar players. And Lasse Hollmer from the legendary SMM is….yeah…a legend!

Now, Fredrik Thordendals/MESHUGGAH solo record "Sol niger within" is one of the most intense pieces of music I've ever heard! Who plays drums on that record? That's right…Morgan Ågren! Hellloooooo!!!!!??? The possibility of that coming together live is simply to much to grasp. I can only hope for now….but I will be there…Oh, yes I will be!!

ANEKDOTEN:

The best dark prog rock band out of Sweden. Gigs in promotion of "A time of day", their last record have been very scarce. I've seen them twice since the release and they almost moved me to tears at Sweden rock last year. If you like a more emotional take on King Crimson, Van Der Graaf generator or even Radiohead…they're highly recommended!

BO HANSSON:

Now, here's a legend! Not only did fucking JIMI HENDRIX cover one of his songs ("Tax Free"), he also did the first, and best musical interpretation of "Lord of the rings" in 1970. That record is in the top of my all-time favourite records! And so are most of his other releases. All the HANSSON & KARLSSON albums (late 60´s pioneering organ/drum venture) + his solo albums and his stints with FLÄSKET BRINNER are certainly more than recommended! The fan-boy in me demands an autograph and a photo, or either…or whatever.

TRETTIOÅRIGA KRIGET:

One of the great heavy prog rock bands from Sweden. Especially their first 2 records ("s/t" & "Krigsång") had an enormous impact on me. I remember listening to "Jag, jag & jag" every night before I fell asleep. Their newer releases impressed the hell out of me as well. I'm a major fan and they have influenced my song writing a lot!

I've seen them only once before and they blew my head clean off, so I can't wait to see them again!

OPETH:

That's right…yeah…we'll be there too! We rehearsed today. Did a cool jazzy re-arrangement of an ol' "classic". Gonna be fun! Playing a new song as well. Actually it's my favourite to play in the bunch we're doing that night. We'll play in a big-ass galleria. That will be a first, and probably a last too. We need your support, even though it's a warm up gig in many ways, I can't wait and we'll be "Cocked and loaded".

There's so much else going on….Nathalie (who sings on our new record "Watershed" will be there performing original songs with Axe and Mendez among others. Emma Nordenstam will be there. Club super 8 will be there….great! They specialize in forgotten artefacts from the Swedish underground film scene. Lots of B-movies, soft porn, thrillers and all sorts of stuff! Lovely! Many of my friends are coming, Steven Wilson is coming (not playing…I think). I think it's going to be like a 2 day party of gigantic measures. I can't wait!!! Hope you can come too guys! Seriously…!!!
