MERCENARY: First Two Albums To Be Re-Released

Danish metallers MERCENARY will have their first two albums re-released through Karmageddon Media. "First Breath" (1998) and "Everblack" (2002) were both remastered to keep up with today's sound standard and the reissue of "Everblack" also includes the bonus track "Nothing's What It Seems" (which was previously available on the digipack version only).

MERCENARY's as-yet-untitled fifth full-length album will be recorded in March and May at Hansen studios in Ribe, Denmark with producer Jacob Hansen (HATESPHERE, INVOCATOR, RAUNCHY). A late summer release via Century Media Records is expected.

MERCENARY Part Ways With Bassist, Seek Replacement

Danish metallers MERCENARY haqve parted ways with bassist Henrik "Kral" Andersen. "What might come as a big shock to everyone outside the band has however been apparent to the band for some time," the group write on their web site. "That said, we feel it’s important to state very clearly that we part ways as the best of friends and we all wish Kral the very best in his future life and pursuits. Kral will always be a part of the MERCENARY family and we thank him first of all for joining us all up in the band through the years, as well as for the lots and lots of cool, fun and unforgettable times. Kral is expected to give a statement shortly. The split has in no way affected the recording of the new album since the rest of the band have been working on the new material during the last couple of months in Kral's absence. All vocals (including shouts and screams) on the upcoming album will be done by Mikkel who is also responsible for lyrics this time. Furthermore the split will not affect the upcoming touring schedule in any way.

"As a consequence of Kral leaving the band we are searching for a new bass player/shouter/screamer. We have to state that we need a person that is able to do both and are not looking for two new members.

"The person we are looking for must fulfill these demands:

* Must have a deeply dedicated and serious mind.

* Must have 100 % devotion to the band

* Must be able to rehearse intensively in certain periods in MERCENARY's rehearsals near Aalborg, Denmark.

* Be a male between 20 - 35 years.

* Be able to growl, scream, do ‘melodic shouting’ and play the bass

* Be able to learn the old songs quickly

* Be able to restrict his drinking on tour/shows (No drinking before shows)

* Must have a personal image fitting a serious metal band

* be able and willing to tour extensively in periods

"Live and studio experience is an advantage but not a necessity.

"We would like to receive material from interested personas ASAP. Please send demos (CDs only) along with contact info and preferable also a recent picture to:

Alternatively, you can send mp3s to: [email protected]

"Serious applications only."

Ajde malo i ja da copy/pasteujem sa Blabbera...

Danish metallers MERCENARY have posted the following message on their official web site:

"We've been waiting for this moment for a long time, and now it's finally here. The new MERCENARY album — the follow up to '11 Dreams' – is done. The recordings ended on Friday, April 7th. We're also finally able to spill out some more details that we've had on the tip of our tongues for several months: The new album title is 'The Hours that Remain'. The album will contain 10 brand new songs — about 60 minutes of playing time. Some track titles are 'The Year of the Plague', 'My world is Ending', 'Obscure Indiscretion' and 'Lost Reality'.

"We're very happy with the result — and if you like '11 Dreams', you'll definately like this as well. 'The Hours that Remain' has the custom MERCENARY riffs and sound, but a lot more heavy, speedy and melodic at the same time. We've gone even further in mixing the different styles as we like them into a nice 'MERCENARY'-type blend. 'The Hours that Remain' will also include special guests that we keep a secret for now. As for the artwork, we've decided to go another round with Travis Smith (NEVERMORE, TESTAMENT, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, etc.). Travis also did the 'Everblack' artwork for us and we're very happy with the layouts he has done for 'The Hours that Remain' so far."

MERCENARY: New Album Details Revealed; Bassist Announced

Denmark's MERCENARY have wrapped up recording and mixing their new album, "The Hours That Remain", with producer Jacob Hansen (RAUNCHY, COMMUNIC, MAROON, HATESPHERE), who had previously worked with the group on their "11 Dreams" offering.

Commented the group: "We made what we feel is the most powerful album in the band's history. Both the writing and the recording processes have really made us a stronger band as we faced quite a few challenges along the way. We can't wait for people to check out the new stuff, and look forward to playing it all live."

Packaged with beautiful artwork by Travis Smith (DEATH, NEVERMORE, OPETH, etc.), "The Hours That Remain" will feature the following track listing (in no particular order):

01. Redefine Me

02. Year Of The Plague

03. My World Is Ending

04. This Eternal Instant

05. Lost Reality

06. Soul Decision

07. Simplicity Demand

08. Obscure Indiscretion

09. My Secret Window

10. The Hours That Remain

"The Hours That Remain" is scheduled for release on August 21 via Century Media Records.

In other news, MERCENARY have announced the addition of bass player René Pedersen to the group's ranks. "We are confident that René fits the bill perfectly, both as a musician and as a person," the band write. "We have been rehearsing with him through the last month, and he is really kicking ass!"
