Dj Danger Mouse + Sparklehorse + guests - Dark Night Of The Soul

 

 

Little bits and pieces have been coming out of the woodwork the last couple weeks about a collaboration set for this summer between producer Dj Danger Mouse (Grey Album, Gnarls Barkley, Dangerdoom) and Mark Linkous of Sparklehorse. What was thought to be a straight collaboration has turned into something much more adventurous. An image of a movie style poster (image below) has been circulating with the addition of many guest spots, including, James Mercer (Shins), Julian Casablancas (Strokes), Iggy Pop, The Flaming Lips, Gruff Rhys, Jason Lytle (Grandaddy), Black Francis (Pixies) to name a few. The album will be called Dark Night Of The Soul

ThisDayWeDie - Regression

 

ThisDayWeDie made their début in the bleak winter of 2008, after its core members spent months struggling with the inadequacy and failure of their labours, before giving into their loathing and throwing their souls into Regression: a collection of 10 demos. Their music explores depths of personal destruction and despair, resulting in a uniquely desolate, macabre sound. The dysphoria with which the music is based around is intensified by the coalescence of apocalyptic atmosphere and dark progressive, and is suffused with haunting vocals, industrial undertones and pounding rhythms.
