The two disc set combines to make a story and possibly generates a new sub-genre of music altogether. These Are the Days and Falling from Cloud 9 represent the most “songish” songs on the album, while many of the songs stop for interludes and story-telling. This is a work in whole (most tracks are over 6 minutes) and ” MUST ” be listened to and respected as such. It’s a must listen for innovative music lovers. VoivodBG Posted November 14, 2009 Report post Posted November 14, 2009 GOOD DAY TO DIE: Hazing Through Shadows (Dallas, 2008) Uvijek je lijepo čitati ili čuti o uspjesima naišh u inozemstvu. Bilo da se radi o sportašima, glumcima ili glazbenicima. Rijetkost, no sve više i stvarnost su uspjesi naših rock bendova. Ne mislim pritom na one koji sviraju po zavičajnim klubovima po njemačkoj i australiji, već na one manje bendove koji uredno pune klubove veličine KSETa širom Europe. Takvih svijetlih primjera posljednjih godina imamo preko nekoliko (ORANGE STRIPS, FATHER, 7 THAT SPELLS...), a tu se ubrajaju i GOOD DAY TO DIE. Nakon što "pokore" Europu vračaju se doma i pokušavaju među domaćom publikom napraviti isto ili slično. GDTD kao kvartet djeluje od 2001. godine, i ovo im je debi album, za kojeg su uspjeli za produkciju zadužiti cijenjenog Steve Austina, iz američkih Today is the Day. Na prve taktove Crush the Skies, pjesme koja otava album, počeo sam mrmljati "Wuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuld", a bome i ostatak priče baca me na grunge revoluciju, prvenstveno na ALICE IN CHAINS i TEMPLE OF THE DOG, dok me Nicky Bumz vs. Leather Pants podsjetila na dane kada je ime SOUNDGARDEN nešto značilo na sceni. Kako sam po tom pitanju zaostao u razvoju na početku 90ih, nadam se da ova usporedba stoji i da znači nešto današnjim slušačima čvršče glazbe, da ne kažem metala, jer nisam baš siguran da GDTD spadaju pod metal. Barem ne pod ono što ja smatram metalom. Good Day to Die - Crush the Skies Čvrsta gitara, razarajuća ritam sekcija i vrlo dobar engleski ono su o čemu možemo pohvalno pričati slušajući ovaj album. Iako se većina naši bendova tih usmjerenja uspije "zaigrati" pa im pjesme nerijetko prelaze dugih pet minuta, a od toga su barem dvije minute dosade, GDTD očito su skužili gdje je granica, jer u najdužim pjesmama, taman kad bi moglo početi biti dosadno, dolazi kraj i promjena teme i promjena atmosfere. Skoro pa savršeno. Čak ni sedamipol minutna bluzerska Deep Water Eyes ne ulazi u sfere dosade. I za kraj, ono što kažem za sve domaće bendove. Ako mogu ovako ili još bolje zvučati uživo skidam kapu.
