Beli nežni (svilenkasti) bantam je vrsta kokoške koja vodi poreklo iz Kine i poznata je po tome da je češće drže kao kućni ljubimci nego što se upotrebljavaju u ishrani.

 

Zahvaljujući svom nežnom perju i jako umiljatom temperamentu, oni su kao kučići u kokošijem svetu. I za razliku od ostalih pilića, oni imaju 5 nožnih prstiju, umesto četiri.

 

Prilično su brižni prema mladuncima, a poznati su slučajevi da su usvajali i pačiće.
