NAPALM DEATH To Enter Studio In May Birmingham, England's fathers of grindcore NAPALM DEATH will be embarking on North America's "The Enemy of God II" tour in late February with German thrashers KREATOR. Vocalist Barney Greenway had this to say about the upcoming trek: "Looks like we're coming back to North America to make a load of noise again. 'The Code Is Red…' was such a well-received album and we're disappointed that this is only the first time that we're getting to a lot of places, but we try our best, you know. "What are the shows going to be like? Well, we will totally go for it, as ever, and hopefully you'll all enjoy. It'll be chaotic, spasmodic and hopefully a beautiful thing. There should be quite a bit of 'The Code…' stuff in there as well. There's also the small matter of the follow-up to 'The Code…', which we are each working on in our own little corners of the world. I have a few songs ready to go lyrically but nothing concrete to share with you right at this moment, unfortunately. "I've been thinking about the general theme of the album a lot and what I'd like to project in this age of being dragged down paths of religious oppression is the spirit of free-thinking. I mean, believe what you want to believe if it makes you happy, but I still don't believe that mass governance via religious theories is wise, especially when the world is so fragile. The whole idea, just for example, of stickering school textbooks that try to explain the scientifically proven evolution of mankind with stickers that say 'This is not necessarily the truth' is entirely counter-productive. "Anyway… we hope to hit the studio mid-May for a late-year release. See you all soon Stateside. Peace, love, equality."

ETERNAL TEARS OF SORROW: New Album Details Revealed Reactivated Finnish melodic extreme metal band ETERNAL TEARS OF SORROW have announced the details of their fifth album, "Before the Bleeding Sun", due out in Finland on April 26 via Spinefarm Records. "Before the Bleeding Sun" is the band's first album since their reunion that took place in 2005. The CD was recorded at Tico-Tico Studios in Kemi and at Note-On Studios in Kuopio and will be mixed by Mikko Karmila at Finnvox Studios. It is also the first album featuring lead guitarist Risto Ruuth (also in SCYRON) and keyboardist Janne Tolsa (also in TAROT). Commented the band: "The album is damn heavy but still more diverse and more melodic than any of our previous albums. EVERGREY: New Album Title Revealed Swedish metallers EVERGREY have set "Monday Morning Apocalypse" as the title of their sixth studio album, tentatively due late March/early April via InsideOut Music. The follow-up to 2004's "The Inner Circle" was recorded at Division One Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden by the experienced production team of Sanken Sandquist and Stefan Glaumann, who have previously worked with such artists as RAMMSTEIN, BON JOVI, BRITNEY SPEARS and DEF LEPPARD. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Monday Morning Apocalypse", "Unspeakable" and "At a Loss for Words". As previously reported, EVERGREY have been nominated for a Swedish "Grammy" in the "Best Music DVD" category for their "A Night to Remember" set, which came out last year. Other nominees in the "Best Music DVD" category are ABBA, CORNELIS VREESWIJK, MARIT BERGMAN and TIMBUKTU. "A Night to Remember" (preview) was filmed on October 9, 2004 in Gothenburg, Sweden with 15 high-definition cameras by video producer Patric Ullaeus (LACUNA COIL, IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR) and includes all six of the group's videos to date. A second DVD disc includes backstage material, in-depth interviews with each of the members, gear-talk, live material from the beginning of their career, festivals, old demo songs and tons of pictures. The "Grammis" awards ceremony will be held on February 7 at Cirkus in Stockholm and will be aired live both on national television (TV4) and radio (P4). EVERGREY recently signed a new one-album deal with InsideOut Music. The band also participated in the kick-off party for the Sweden Rock Festival at Annexet in Stockholm on December 3, 2005.

SODOM: Release Date For New Album Announced Long-running German thrashers SODOM will release their new, self-titled album on April 21 via SPV Records. The follow-up to 2001's "M-16" has already been recorded and is currently being mixed at a studio in Germany. In April the band will also undertake an East European tour, covering countries like Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary, including an April 20 appearance at the Hall Of Metal Festival at Jahrhunderthalle in Breslau, Poland. Summer festival appearances are possible, to be followed by more extensive touring in the fall/winter. SODOM will release their "Lords of Depravity - Part I" DVD in the U.S. on February 21 via SPV. The first of two double-DVD sets contains the SODOM history from 1982 to 1995 plus live footage from concerts in Sofia and at the With Full Force, Wacken Open Air and Rock Hard festivals. In related news, SODOM frontman Thomas "Angelripper" Such's ONKEL TOM project will be on tour between March 2 and March 11. Support at the shows will come from VENDETTA and RUNAMOK. Exact cities and dates will be announced soon.

NEAERA To Release Sophomore Album In April Up-and-coming German metal/hardcore outfit NEAERA are currently recording their second album, "Let the Tempest Come", in Denmark with producer Jacob Hansen (FEAR MY THOUGHTS, HATESPHERE, RAUNCHY, SOUL DEMISE, ILLDISPOSED). The band are said ot be "very pleased" with the way things are going and are currently laying down the bass and vocal tracks. There will also be several well-known guest vocalists featured on the upcoming album, the identities of which have yet to be revealed. "Let the Tempest Come" is scheduled for release on April 7 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and April 10 in the rest of Europe via Metal Blade Records. Commented NEAERA: "Recording our second album has been really great so far. Jacob is just a totally cool person to work with and to have around you. The sound that he has managed to create so far leaves us very optimistic about the final result of the process. Jacob is a total perfectionist who motivates you to give nothing less than your best. He really keeps pushing and pushing us to do even better. We are happy to work with him." Added Jacob Hansen: "The guys have been exceptionally fast laying down their tracks. Well prepared and just ready to rock! It's all been fun so far — I think we click in very well and I think this album is gonna come out really strong. There's some serious good riffin' in there... Now it's just up to me to make the best out of their work." NEAERA's debut album, "The Rising Tide of Oblivion", was released last year through Metal Blade Records. The CD was recorded Stage One Studios in Bühne, Germany with producer Andy Classen.
