According to a press release, this CD "will encompass everything TOXIK is known for, as well as some surprises." The band is currently rehearsing for its first U.S. shows in over 20 years, as well as for the Keep it True festival and subsequent European tour that will start later this month. TOXIK last year announced the addition of SHADOWS FALL drummer Jason Bittner and FREYA bassist Bill Bodily to the group's ranks. Hailing from New York's Hudson Valley area, TOXIK released a pair of classic thinking-man's thrash metal albums in the late '80s. An upstart record label named Roadrunner Records (later home to SLIPKNOT and NICKELBACK) released the band's two astounding masterworks, 1988's "World Circus" and 1989's "Think This". Both releases saw TOXIK take the aggression and brutality of speed metal and mix it with the technicality and proficiency of progressive hard rock. TOXIK left the Hudson Valley region and toured the United States and the world, playing shows with the likes of PANTERA, SEPULTURA, EXODUS, KING DIAMOND and others in their quest for metal ascendancy before their premature implosion in 1992. TOXIK released a DVD, "Think Again", in August 2010. The set contained both vintage and brand new never-before-seen footage. The main feature was a 1989 headlining set from the Paramount Theater in TOXIK's hometown of Peekskill, New York. This performance came shortly after the release of "World Circus" and the energy level of the band wa truly at its peak for TOXIK's first headlining show. The DVD contains all the tracks from "World Circus" and an early version of "Spontaneous" that later appeared on "Think This". azal Posted December 31, 2014 Report post Posted December 31, 2014 meni vokal bas smeta. nije los, ali bas je prosecan do bola. mislim, lik je bio prosecan thrash krestavac pre 20 godina, tako da nisam ni bolje ocekivao. bolje da su nasli nekog mladog koji vise peva kao Sabin. Kao sto su Mekong Delta nasli super pevaca za novi stil. Muzika je generalno dobra, dovoljno agresivna i dovoljno progresivna, mix je prilicno uzasan, mozda bih trebao Morris u penziju da ode. Taman kad pomislim da u glavu ne može više riffova da mi stane, otkrijem nešto tipa Toxik i onda mi glavni riff sa "World Circus" ili "Spontaneous" po danima ne da mira. Oba albuma su mi pravo fenomenalna, s tom razlikom što "Think This" jeste kreativniji, ima par pesama koje su nešto što bih ja okarakterisao kao pravi jebeni power metal. Kako bilo, svakako ne čist thrash. Sa druge strane, WC je luda thrash vožnja, prenapunjena fantastičnim riffovima, nosi brutalna energija od Heart Attacka do Victimsa maltene bez stajanja. Oba fenomenalna na svoj način. Favorit #1 mi za sad ona nešto nešto "In God" :] Sad čuo i ove dve nove sa prethodne stranice. SkullKrusheR Posted July 11, 2017 Report post Posted July 11, 2017 pesma mi je težak prosek, svaki mogući kliše je tu, a nema ničega što je toxik činilo drugačijim od drugih ranije. jedino je solaža dobra. omot i spot isto 20-30 godina stari klišei, a taman i izgleda kao da su tada rađeni, samo sa boljom rezolucijom. sve je ovo jako nemaštovito i sto puta viđeno i to kod mnogo lošijih bendova nego što je toxik (bio). azal Posted July 11, 2017 Report post Posted July 11, 2017 ok je stvar za prvi singlic. vise lici na Anthrax muzicki (sa Cacophony solazama doduse) ali nije losa stvar. fali da malo zakomplikuju/ubrzaju riffove/svirku i da pevac pusti glas u visinu kao nekad i mozda i zalici na taj Think This Toxik.
