Novi Avatarium (uslovno rečeno novi, jer je izašao još u maju) sjajan, ubjedljivo, barem meni, bolji od svoja dva prethodnika. Album sveden na 8 pjesama, od kojih su sve prepoznatljive i zanimljive, dok ih je nekoliko baš onako sa hit potencijalom. Glavna prednost je što je album mnogo više čvršči, žešči i u globalu gledano brži od svoja dva prethodnika. Tu se donekle možda i izgubila doom crta, ali meni ne smeta mnogo. Pjesme kao što su "Into the Fire / Into the Storm" i "Starless Sleep" su hitovi u ravni sa "Girl With the Raven Mask" sa prošlog albuma, "Medusa Child" je najviše catchy od svih, dok je "The Sky at the Bottom of the Sea" vrhunski 70's hard rock na tragu recimo Rainbow, samo sa ženskim vokalom. Tempo na albumu spuštaju pjesme poput "Road to Jerusalem" ili recimo "When Breath Turns to Air", i tu se ističe stil koji je dominirao na prva dva albuma.

Ono što me je iznenadilo jeste da na albumu među muzičarima nigdje nije potpisan Leif iz Candlemassa, osim što je naveden kao autor većine pjesama. Kontao sam da je uzeo mali predah, dok će se, kako sam mislio, voditi i dalje kao član benda. Večeras bacim pogled na Arhive i vidim da je naveden kao bivši član benda.

Kako god, album je super i meni mnogo bolji od The Doomsday Kingdom albuma, koji mi je ništa specijalno.

 

Skinuo sam prije neki dan i ovaj novi Sabbath Assembly, pošto sam slučajno vidio da je procurio. Jednom sam ga samo pustio i nemam neki poseban utisak, mada mi ne djeluje kao nešto što ima potencijal da me radi. Onaj njihov prvi album Restored to One mi je bio sjajan, to su praktično sve bile male himne sa hippie notom, dok sam naredna dva ispratio sa velikom očekivanjima i oba puta se razočarao.

standardno zanimljiv album, čini mi se stilski i najraznovrsniji do sada. sve živo su izmešali pa zna i neki blastbeat da upadne, ali post-punk vajb preovladava ponajviše.
