Norwegian Dark Metallers AETERNUS are set to enter Bergen’s Conclave and Earshot Studios in June together with producer Bjornar E. Nilsen (VULTURE INDUSTRIES, BLACK HOLE GENERATOR) to begin recording the band’s seventh full length album. The album, to be titled “And the Seventh His Soul Detesteth”, will be released on Dark Essence Records later this year.

Details of "...And The Seventh His Soul Detesteth", the new album from dark metallers AETERNUS, have just been revealed. The ten-track CD, which will be the band's seventh full-length release, will first appear as a limited edition containing AETERNUS' classic 1995 debut EP, "Dark Sorcery", as a bonus, and is set for release on Dark Essence Records on March 18 worldwide (except for Norway, Germany, Austria and Sweden, where the album will appear on March 22).

 

Formed in Bergen, Norway in 1993 by guitarist and frontman Ares, AETERNUS has re-emerged seven years after the release of their last album "Hexaeon" with a new lineup that comprises Ares on guitars and vocals, Phobos (GRAVDAL, MALSAIN) on drums and Specter on guitars. One of the pioneers of what the band calls "dark metal," AETERNUS' sound combines features from both black metal and death metal with superlative guitar playing and occasional haunting, melodic interludes.

 

"...And The Seventh His Soul Detesteth" was produced by Bjornar E. Nilsen (VULTURE INDUSTRIES, BLACK HOLE GENERATOR) at the Conclave And Earshot studios in Bergen. All music is by AETERNUS, concept and lyrics by HELHEIM's V'gandr. Artwork is by Timo Ketola, known for his work with bands such as for DEATHSPELL OMEGA, ASPHYX, DISSECTION, MARDUK, WATAIN and OPETH, among others, while band photos were taken by Christine Ristesund. The bonus EP, "Dark Sorcery", was recorded, mixed and mastered by Cato Langnes at Hindu Lyd in 1995 and produced by AETERNUS. Lineup on "Dark Sorcery" is Ares on guitars and vocals, Erik (VROLOK) on drums and Ørjan on bass. All music and lyrics by Ares.

NIje najbolji, ali jest odličan...

Ovaj album je uz novi Tribulation meni najbolji death metal u 2013 za sada.

Sad slusam album, dobar

Gle ni ja nisam ostavio koment uopste

Odlican je, meni jedan od omiljenih dm albuma prosle godine.

Jebem ti, ja ladno za godinu dana nisam kako treba preslušao posljednji album ...iako sam se posljednjih sedmica ubijao Aeternusom, ali nekako sam najviše vrtio Ascension.

Danas se ispravlja vala!

Nisam ga pustio uopšte barem 4-5 godina, al sam ga zato odslušao recimo15 puta u posljednjih 10-ak dana.

Jbt, čovjek toliko dobre muzike zapostavi / smetne s uma trudeći se da presluša sve što ga zanima, da zapravo i zaboravi da malo samo sluša, a ne preslušava i uživa u onome što već voli...

Ako nisi slusao 4-5 godina, to znaci da si slusao kad je Consolamentum izasao pa sad?

Haha, ma mislio sam na album Ascension of Terror od Aeternus bre Vidiš da sam rekao da sam se ubijao Aeternusom.

 

A bend Ascension ipak nikad ne zapostavljam!

Kad je vec osvezena tema, samo da kazem da je novi album neverovatan, bas sam pod utiskom. Ko je voleo prosli, a meni je bio u top 5 albuma te godine, bice vise nego zadovoljan i ovim.

Meni nisu nešto preterano zanimljivi od kad ne svira Morrigan. Da li je ona radila muziku ili je nešto drugo u pitanju, nemam pojma, ali od onakvog benda su postali najobičniji death metal. Evo stoji mi nova pesma danima u kompjuteru, ne setim se da je pustim.

Eto, ukusi. Meni zvuče prilično unikatno u ovoj novoj death metal fazi, inspirisano, sjajni rifovi, sjajni solaže, ne mogu da setim nijednog benda koji slično zvuči.

Ja njih pamtim kao blekere, što kaže Talvi iz REX/MEX dana

 

Znači prešli na DM, pa aj poslušaću kad procuri novi..
