José Luis Chilavert Posted February 9, 2009 Report post Posted February 9, 2009 „Iguman“ ist die Bezeichnung für „Abt“ (also Klostervorsteher) in der Ostkirche, es ist aber nun auch der Name der ersten montenegrinischen Black Metal-Band. Genauer handelt es sich um das Demo „Rogati Kopitar“, welches 2006 zuerst als Kassette via ADZOVE VRBE RECORDS (111 Exemplare), später noch einmal – wieder auf Kassette – von SATANIC PROPAGANDA RECORDS aus Schweden aufgelegt wurde (Dieses Exemplar wird hier rezensiert.) und nun 2008 erneut, aber diesmal als MCD, über CARNAL SADIST PRODUCTIONS erschienen ist. Immer jeweils mit einer neuen Covergestaltung. Das oben abgebildete Cover entstammt der MCD-Edition. Natürlich handelte es sich hier immer um Kleinstauflagen, IGUMAN ist ja auch eine tief in den Black Metal-Untergrund verstrickte Band, aber daran, dass ihr Debüt gleich dreimal neu aufgelegt wurde, lässt sich bereits ersehen, dass sie etwas für Wirbel sorgten. Eine Art Wikipedia-Parodie-Seite weiß gar Folgendes zu berichten (Wenn man die Musik kennt, wirkt das umso lustiger.): „One particular musical direction quickly emerging from the Montenegro underground is "TMNBM", or "Trve Black Metal", forefronted by the kvlt black metal band Iguman. Their first and only official release, the "Rogati Kopitar" demo, made a huge impact on the local music scene. With genre classics such as "Bludnice Sestre" and "Rotacija Časnog Krsta", the band immediately knew an unprecedented commercial success, remaining on the No. 1 spot for 67 weeks straight ever since the release first appeared in 2006. The demo is known to have sold more copies in a single week than Vlado Georgiev, Sergej Ćetković, No-Name and The Montenegrin Orthodox Church altogether during their respective careers“ Letztendlich handelt es sich aber doch nur um eine Spielzeit von etwa 14 Minuten, die zwar einen bizarren Eindruck hinterlassen, aber keiner ausufernden Beschreibung bedürfen. Zunächst einmal erscheint das „spirituell-religiöse“ Drumherum ungewöhnlich: „Metal-Archives“ gibt verheißungsvoll „Docleatic (was immer das auch ist) Orthodox Church, Satanism, Asceticism“ als ihre lyrische Thematik an, im Prinzip reicht das für theologisch und diabolisch Interessierte schon, eine gesteigerte Aufmerksamkeit zu erzeugen, sind doch IGUMAN damit die erste Black Metal-Band, die sich im speziellen Kontext der, in ihrem Fall, serbisch-orthodoxen Kirche bewegen. In Montenegro gibt es aber auch eine nicht anerkannte autokephale orthodoxe Kirche, und just dem 1996 verstorbenen Metropolit dieser Kirche, ANTONIJE ABRAMOVIC, ist das Album auch in „satanic memory“ gewidmet. Eine andere Edition ist dem jetzigen Metropolit gewidmet. Die Texte sind entweder auf Bosnisch, Montenegrinisch oder Serbisch verfasst (Die sprachlichen Unterschiede sind so groß nicht.). Da ich natürlich nichts verstehe, muss die Frage, ob hier ein ernstes theologisches Anliegen oder ein Spaß vorliegt, ersteinmal vertagt werden. Das Drumherum wirkt aber eher wenig spaßig, höchstens unfreiwillig. Das Tape fängt mit einem mindestens dreiminütigen liturgischem Choralgesang an, bis dann das Inferno losbricht. Viel und oft ist von Chaos-Black Metal die Rede, man denke hier speziell an die Soloalben von SADISTIK EXEKUTIONs REV. KRISS HADES (der auch BAIN WOLFKIND begleitet) oder an die ebenfalls aus Australien stammenden LUST, IGUMAN bewegen sich gekonnt auch auf diesem Terrain. Hinzu kommt eine Kreisch/Quieck-Stimme, die ich ähnlich extrem nur von den allerersten FLEURETY- (Norwegen) Aufnahmen kenne (Dort klingt der Verantwortliche NORDGAREN wie ein quietschender Turnschuh in einer Sporthalle. Er bekam dies dann von seinem Hals-Nasen-Ohrenarzt verboten. Sollte es in Montenegro verantwortungsbewusste Ärzte dieses Fachgebiets geben, werden sie dem INGUMAN-„Sänger“ IKONOGRAF den gleichen Rat geben.). Weitere Würze erhält die IGUMANsche Black Metal-Interpretation durch plötzlich auftretende Gitarrensoli und Choralgesänge. Wie ungewöhnlich, wie bekloppt oder wie atmosphärisch all das ist, bleibt wohl stimmungsabhängig. Wer neben LUST, frühen FLEURETY, REV. KRISS HADES auch noch BALTAK (Ein Australier, der glaubt er käme aus Mazedonien und deshalb von einem groß-mazedonischen Imperium inspiriert ist.) in guter Erinnerung und ein Faible für durchgeknallten Black Metal hat, sollte reinhören. Es ist auch ihr Debütalbum namens „Bludni Sin“ schon angekündigt. Auf Youtube hat ein Witzbold einen inoffiziellen „Nunsploitation“-IGUMAN-Clip eingestellt. Vermutlich stecken IGUMAN-Mitglieder (oder zumindest Freunde) auch hinter dem montenegrinischem Black Metal Zine ZAPISNIK. Obskure Band, ich bin zufrieden!
