For the article, King was played a song each from 10 different bands and was asked to comment on the music as he was listening to it. The following are some of the highlights from King's listening session: METALLICA – "St. Anger" Kerry King: [2 seconds in] "Ugh! I know what that is! You can tell right away by the sh*tty mix. I made myself listen to this album twice, just to make sure I hated it as much as I hate it. [on the snare drum sound] "I mean, what is that? Sounds like he's hitting a Pepsi can or something when it should be a snare sound. I like that intro riff, it could be heavy if it was mixed, this would sound awesome. I'm not sure what they were going for in the mix. For me, it's just the mix. [on the part of the song when the pace picks up] "This part here could be entertaining as hell, but I just can't get past the mix." [on the album being the supposed "return to form" that most of the rock press are heralding it as] "Yeah, I read that, and I was like, 'What record were they listening to?' I bet it sounds pretty decent live, and those songs are alright, but there's no reason for those songs to be seven minutes long, let along eight or nine. It's like they have one of the better guitar players on the planet, and they're not letting him play lead. It's kinda like putting cuffs on him. I personally can't understand it. I think the lyrics could have gone further than f**kin' rehab. James needs to have a f**kin' shot and get over it. "The whole thing about this album that really bugged me is like, 'What was up with the last record ['Load'/'Re-Load']? I thought that's what you liked?' And now they think they're heavy again? To me, I've lived this all my life, day in, day out. I might be Kerry King the homeboy for some of the time, but I'm always Slayer. Metallica weren't Metallica for 10 years. Da vidim da neko kaže nešto u odbranu od ovoga. Pretpostavljam da će biti: "Ma, Keri King je izlapeo. Ne zna čovek šta priča." Nego, juče čujem da neko hoće da dovede Metallicu ovde i da je spreman da im ponudi jebenih 500.000 evra!!! Ne bih im ja dao ni pola te sume, pa nek' se jebu. Pa prvo pogledajte kiskove u njihovu diskografiju, onda pogledajte u koje spotove se pojavljivao i preslushajte izjave tipa 'vokal Shitnota je najachi u metalu' pa onda prichajte o njemu i shta je sve objasnio. Svako gleda svoju korist, chilj, tako i on. On samo se lazhe da su skochili akcije Slayer-a po ono shto je izjavio.. Ajt bolje da ne razvlachim prichu o njega... Kad bi prichao neko ko nije radio takve stvari onda i da razmotrimo to mishljenje. I Mille je dao mn. negativnu kritiku na St. Anger, i to poshtujem... U svaki sluchaj, uradili su album sa koga che metal priblizhiti shta vechi broj fanova, i koji album nije losh gledano muzichki. Ako dajemo thrash ocenu, sigurno da bi ocena bila veoma niska. Metallica su opet nazad. Ochekujem ih na turneji po evropi, dal Bugarska, Srbija, ili dalje.. biche thrash masakar!! Oko sume 500.000 evra... mislim da nije tachna. Mislim da su do 250.000 evra, jer ranije su bili 400.000 - 500.000 DM. A, to dali bi dali ili ne toliku para za Metallica-u... Budite srechni ako imate priliku da gledate taj bend u Beogradu!! Ako budu dolazhili, idem 100 %!!! Inache, Metallica je bend ko je poznat mnogo od onima koji ne slushaju metal. I oni ne bi propustili njihov koncert budite sigurni. Sta god da sviraju, to su oni. Ko kad bi Lars ucio Stiva Harisa sta su to Maideni. A mnogi su jedva docekali da Metallica izda album koji nije u nivou kakav ona moze da napravi, pa da sada se takmice ko ce vise govana da pospe po njoj. Valjda tako lece kompleks nize vrednosti. Treba znati da je Metallica prosla kroz razna sranja, da su jedva ostali na okupu, pa su verovatno ovako podbacili. Treba sacekati sledece ostvarenje, pa tek onda reci da li su olinjali ili ne.
